Jason Scotland is outstanding, He's pacey, strong and can finish, he also has that Championship and Premierleague experience which will be good along side Barnes and Hoskins.

scotland , forssel , cms.............what about some defender ffs ........gus must think dunks is a legend in the making ffs.

One day Dunk will be an excellent player. I'm sure Gus said he tries to sign strikers first as the later it gets the harder they are to sign.

I have no issue if I'm subsequently proved wrong, but I just can't quite see Scotland as Poyet's type of player.

He doesn't look like the kind of lean players Gus usually wants.

Scotland is a good player, at least from what I remember of him playing against us for Swansea a couple of years ago. He looked great then in a similar style of play.

Yep. I think Poyet is going for young, quick players, whose abilities can still be moulded to fit his style of play. Where he has picked up older players (Kishishev, Greer) it's been quite clear that their footballing brain and ability to put their foot on the ball as opposed to just running around hoofing it is crucial.

Scotland certainly doesn't fall into the first category, and I'm not convinced he's in the second either.

Scotland obviously falls into the right categories if Poyet is after him.

I think he'd be a decent addition. We cant play 11 young players we need experience in key areas of the pitch. We have Greer at the back and Scotland would add experience and nous up-front. Im sure given a pre season with us we would get him fighting fit and ready to go, add to that how much Gus could probably get out of him in the way he has got the best out of El-Abd I think he would be a good buy. At the right price of course..

He isn't lean because he is very a strong unit, no because he is over weight. Some people are deceived by his strength and think he istall when really he is quite small and likes the ball at his feet and would enjoy playing in a passing side, like he proved at Swansea. Sure he is getting on a bit but we need that as we have a fairly young squad, most of whom are in-experienced at this level. His record proves that he scores goals in the champ and I see him as a good signing as long as we don't spend too much on him, as we would only get 2-3 years out of him.
