Meopham, Kent.
Been there and done it in The Championship, and we do need a couple of players who can say that.

Better reckord than Mackail-Smith in the Championship, and would probably be around a fifth of the price, as well as being a far more realistic target.

Yes please.

11 goals in his last 71 appearances.

No thanks.

A lot of his more prolific spells have been in Mickey Mouse leagues like the SPL by the looks of things.

Average, old and somewhat a carthorse. No thanks

10 Goals in 30 starts in the Championship last season, and 21 in 39 starts in his only other Championship season? Wigan are shithouse, and he was never going to do well there. Pretty impressive IMO, considering most people are excited at the idea of Mackail-Smith, and Scotlands record in this league is FAR better.

You are judging him on his spell at a pretty shocking Premiership club? At Championship level he is pretty prolific. Don't forget Gus is close friends with Martinez who managed JS in his very successful spell in the Championship at Swansea, playing a similar way to Gus. JS will also know Marcos Painter from those days.

If he doesn't cost too much i.e. less than 500k then fine. He was very good for Swansea in the Martinez days and has Championship experience. The one concern I have with him is that he's always looked a bit chubby, however I'm sure Gus would get him into shape pretty sharpish. Scotland and one other striker (be it 'the special one' or another with experience) would do me.

He would be useful to have, and different to what we have at the moment, but would be concerned if we paid much more than 500k for him.

Depending on how much Ipswich want for him I think he'd be a good signing, anything over half a million is too much though.
