Hinshelwood gave an interview earlier in the season where he said it was privilege working alongside and learning off of Milner. I think Hinshelwood is such an exciting prospect for us, I'm delighted he's learning off of Milner. (I say prospect, Hinshelwood already looks a good established first team player, "prospect" is used in the sense that he could become an amazing talent for us.)
He's definitely been learning from Milner and Lallana this season. Unfortunately, mostly it's what's good to watch on Netflix, while you're recovering from injury and how to cheat at Uno.
I actually think will Lallana going, it makes sense to keep Milner. I think providing he is kept away from the fullback role he clearly can't handle anymore, then he will be good in games where we need to see out a lead for the last 15-20 minutes.
Didn’t Milner when asked on the US pre season tour identify Hinshelwood as the player with most potential? If Milner adds £1m to AH’s (oops I meant JH) value (by mentoring him) then it must be worth it

That is a very fair point. But I do think, for young players with genuine talent, to be able to train with professional of the caliber of Milner, Lallana, Welbeck, Veltman, is such clever thinking by the club. The young players can be told how to behave and how to train until the coaches are blue in the face. But having older professionals of that level around the first team, gives them an example to follow. They can see what those guys do, and emulate it. And regardless of the soundbites, its worth having them onboard for that alone.
