Slade seems to have a bit of a 'buy everyone' policy. Looks like its under way at Orient as well.

We made a silly mistake and signed a centre back who was left footed and played him at left back where he never looked comfortable.

He looked excellent as a CB and was never really given a chance. I wish him luck because I think he'll do very well after time.

A friend of mine who is an Oxford season ticket holder says he has been used as a centre back and has been one of their best players this season - maybe he has found his level?

Same as at Crawley last season then.

I was one of the 600 who saw him put in an excellent performance at center back for US at Orient, i'll never know why he never got another.

Indeed. Best player on the pitch that evening.

But still not good enough to be a regular in Div 1.

I'm not making a judgement on whether he is good enough to player centre back in League One, only that he was the stand-out performer in that game and deserved another chance in that position. Even when others were woefully out of form, he was never given an opportunity.

I think he'll do well at Oxford and it's a good club for him to go to.

We only saw him in matches the management and coaching staff see the players in training nearly every day and if they felt he had the ability would not have let him go to Oxford on loan or sell him for a fraction of what he cost. This applies to all players, but sometimes like with Croft, you get an offer that it would be insane to turn down.

I personally feel a bit sorry for him. My understanding is that he is a centre-back although we bought him to play left-back after he played in a friendly against us in this position. He never got a real chance in his favoured position.

Good luck to him.
