I was also at Orient in the JPT, and the partnership he formed with Elphick was superb. They seemed to compliment each other brilliantly, and there was natural balance at the back. I think Wright's only downfall at the club was being "able to play left back". What some consider versatility has spoilt his career here in my opinion, he's a centre back who happens to be left footed. Doesn't mean he should be signed and then shunted into a position he didn't play for Crawley last season. We signed him because he was a good centre half in the Conference, and then played him at left back. That was a doomed plan from the start in my opinion.

I think Jake Wrights still a really good player and would have a future here , the one game he played in his natural position was against Orient in the JPT and he was by far the best player out there and got man of the match and now we are just going to get rid of him , i rate him much more then Tunni .

Oxford fan here. Jakey has been absolutely superb for us and we are all keeping everything crossed that he signs. The best timer of a tackle that I have seen in a yellow shirt whilst also having a touch of pace and no slouch in the air. I know that L1 is a different gravy and all that but it is an error to let him go. The guy is a proper footballer with class and his natural level will prove to be higher than L2 I assure you. He is just not a left back in any way shape or form.

What an odd signing he was - signed mainly cos he played well against us in a friendly game!

The same basis on which Manure evidently signed Cristiano Rondivingcheatingwinkingbastarldo, if their players are to be believed. Doesn't mean it's necessarily flawed - surely the best way to judge a player is to watch him play?

I met him out a couple of weeks ago. He said he was "gutted he hadn't been given much of a chance at centre back" at Brighton.
He said Poyet was a good manager but it's hard to change his mind.

Fair enough, but we're more than adequately covered in central defence as 90% of our youth team products seem to be quality centre backs. Only time will tell but I can't see it being a mistake in letitng him go as he was never going to get in ahead of Elphick, El-Abd, Tunnicliffe and now Dunk and without playing regular Football League football he is never going to advance and stand a chance of meeting his potential.
