He has produced some excellent displays, don't see how his ability can be called into question, he has it. Could do with being stronger (but not at the expense of his pace) and braver. He has to perform REGULARLY at some point, the "he's young" thing won't wash forever I'm afraid. :(

Never met him,so don't know about arrogance.

But I've seen him play, and he is too small, too weak, and not too aware.Possibly good enough for this division as a sub,but would not live in a decent team.Opposing defenders see him,and out come the deckchairs.

He has 10 goals of which 6 came from 2 hat tricks (one against a non league side, the other against an abysmal Huddersfield). In the remaining 27 games he has managed 4 goals.

That is not showing he can score goals and certainly not on a regular enough basis to justify being called a goal scorer. If we weren't struggling to get bodies in he wouldn't be a sub, let alone in the starting 11. He isn't good enough based on this season's performance and some of his recent misses have been spectacular. Sorry but that's how I see it.

Think it's a bit harsh to judge him on his goals per game ratio this year. He's spent a lot of the time on the right wing and as an attacking central midfielder - not as a striker.
He's still young, and inconsistency is perfectly natural in players his age.
It's still too early to judge how good he'll eventually become. Look at how much someone like Hammond has come on in the last couple of years - Jake could do the same.

I think the main criticism against him is the lack of bravery and body strength.
I'm surprised he's still in the starting line-up now Ward is back.

I'm quite relieved by this thread. Nutter and Dwayne have called him arrogant, and Chops has called him crap, and Kinky is getting impatient.

In keeping with how serious anyone can take those four's opinions, I confidently predict a bright footballing future for Jakey.

About as seriously as people take yours?

But dont worry im surehe will be happy with your endless support when he misses more sitters :)

I am allowed to point out that he actually has 12?

You are, of course, correct...

However, according to the Club's site he has 10-excluding 3 JPT goals which even the club don't list for JR.

Copied from the Club Site:

Season 2006 - 07

Competition Apps
(as sub) Goals Yellow
Cards Red
Cards
League 25 (9) 6 2 0
FA Cup 3 (0) 4 0 0
League Cup 1 (1) 0 0 0

Right, I think people are overlooking a key characteristic of Jake Robinson that could be incredibly useful to the club. So, he may not be such a great player at the moment. However; I would see great PR potential for the club with regards to his aesthetic appeal. Jake could easily be up for a double page spread in Cosmo or the like in their features about up and coming, good looking sports faces to look out for.
In reality, players like Beckham etc, are featured in the glossy magazines purely for their status, personal lives and fashion. I believe that Jake has similar potential.

I can't believe I'm actually posting about football, but people do change...

Further on the topic of JR:

At the beginning of the season, I thought Jake to be a pretty decent player, especially after the Northwich Victoria show. As his performance got worse, I then stupidly assumed that it was a case of 'too much too young' and he was getting way too cocky and not able to perform consistently. It would now appear he is quite the opposite and has actually got confidence issues.
I just don't know what to think any more.

Good to hear.
