Iwelumo Not Coming Back

Amazingly, no one had noticed that Harding was also missing from pre season. McGee commented - "Dan's a quiet lad and we hadn't missed him"

You could have added, that McGhee is so pleased to see him back, that he has immediately installed Harding as the midfield maestro for the coming season. Only truth is sometimes stranger than fiction

I'd be a lot more happy with McGhee telling big Chris to get stuffed if he had bothered to improve that area of the squad instead of buggering off on holiday immediately after the play-off final. Perhaps he should have improved tha squad first and *then* gone on holiday...
how was he suppose to do that and be back for the start of pre season training?
plymouth did that they signed 3 or 4 signings before williarmson went on holiday during the euro's.but they had a month extra to sort that while we were involved in the play off's

I wonder how much the contract that we offered Iwelumo was worth? It wouldn't surprise me at all if it was a pittance and that Big C regarded it as an insult. I'll always remember the £500 a week we allegedly offered Rougier. Hardly surprising he didn't want to know. Rarely in life can you get something useful for nothing (or very little)...... in my experience anyway.

IF that is the case then you say tbanks but no thanks like Rougier and Beasant did.

You don't disappear on holiday for a month and then not bother turning up.

This is an employment just as much as us turning in to our offices shops or factories.
Manner cost nothing.

I appreciate what Chris did for us last season but cannot subscribe to the thought that he would have been a 'good squad player' we have plenty of them what we needed or indeed still need is a player who will go straight into the team as first choice and score goals in the Knight/Zamora mould. The man that could have done has gone to Leicester Dion Dublin we do not need a Rougier or Benjamin to just make up the numbers and score the odd goal.
