Andy Ritchie free kick remember it well. What a strange place the Dell was.

We were in the seats rather than the weirdly shaped away terrace. It was raining hard but the seats in front of us were not under the roof so everyone got quite wet. One bloke was wearing a Del Boy style Camel Hair coat which got smellier as it got wetter. Amazing what stupid stuff sticks in your memory from something over 40 years ago.

I don’t remember the South stand being all standing ( it looked that way ). When did it go to an all seater ?
Remember sitting there in late 80’s

It was seats top half, terrace below.

The middle section behind the goal for some time was populated by the feared Bosun geezers... attracted some reaction from away fans like West Ham and Tottenham if I recall.... we were just oiks in the North Stand at the time.

Stood on the SW corner for both those games with the old man
Remember the West Ham game well,their fans behind the goal
Then some older Brighton fans filing behind us
Even at my tender age I knew what was coming
Hence the big punch up

After it caught fire in 1980, they removed the terrace part at the front and made it all seater.
