After a promising start with some lovely days in June and July the last 4 weeks have been shit. Cloudy everyday, rainy, constant force 6. The tan has gone.

Only 2 weeks of summer left now

Shame.

It's the classic british equation:

Good July = Crap August

Don't give up on summer just yet, September is often quite nice.

There was a piece in a few of the newspapers last weekend that the long range forecast predicts rain until November.

Ive spoken to many people who said, "its been quite a good summer"

Ive not bothered to argue the point, but what planet are these people on unless they live in Spain and I dont know about it.

You have to accept in this country if its not raining and above 15c then it = good summer.

Yup, summer just seems to have petered out.Crappy now...better cheer up for Sat.28th going to Goodwood races for the day. Go on this day each year and we always seem to have pretty good weather.Fingers crossed!

When the good citizens of Blighty set out and discovered the new world a few hundred years ago why didn't they move the entire population over there and shut this rain-soaked shit hole of an island down then none of us today would have to put up with this depressing climate? We could have turned Blighty into an island prison for convicts.

Er, the temperatures have been above average for nearly 4 months.

That would be cracking. There's a suburb of Brisbane called Brighton, we could be Brighton and Brisbane Albion.:albion2:

It has been a good summer. Hardly any cricket has been rained off - always a good sign. We had a UK holiday - in Scotland - and there was just one rainy morning. Temperatures have been well above average, not had to wear trousers or thick top, even at night.

I'd have a summer like this any year.
