The Jacobs Ladder that I knew as as a child was the one that leads from the top of Natal Road to Birling Close, which is at the bottom end of Jevington Drive
The ENT site is easy to spot as was replaced by a long, skinny, building. Turn up the hill from Queens Rd and it's on your left. There's little else on that side, before you get to St Nicks.
As for so few knowing the answers. maybe it's because some have you on their 'ignore' list, which is a shame as they miss the few gems among your mainly crass posts.

Seeing as i am off work this week, and can't be arsed to go to 'boiro, maybe I'll have to recall some of those happy times at London Road.
Answer given so far except 4 and 5 are right the trouble is there are far to many Brighton wannabees on here who no nothing really about the Albion or Brighton and Hove history to make it worthwhile and fun.

Is this the incident involving two soldiers from the Oxford Militia, condemned to be shot, who were paraded through the streets to Goldstone Bottom in a cart?
