It's the fans fault that home games are crap apparently...

Goldstone crowds were shit noisewise unless we were winning in style or it was a BIG game. Ok so no roof has something to do with the lack of atmosphere at Withdean but Brighton have seldom made massive noise at home even with 15k crowds. We got 25+ when we were good and then the atmosphere was as good as anywhere.

Whilst I sympathise to a degree with what El Abd is saying he has to realise that to get the best out of the crowd the team have to make chances that involve shots and a bit of goalmouth action. They have been piss poor at that for far too long and they need to look at themselves not shift the blame onto the crowd,

Poor poor value at home don't expect plaudits for it

Why does that sort of statement allways get thrown into the equasion during these threads? Is being a season ticket holder some kind of a status symbol?

Sorry if I offended you by mentioning Season Tickets in this thread-I wasn't aware that it was on the forbidden list.

It's quite simple. I'll explain it one more time though: the team's performances have been awful for three years, a player publicly blames the fans for the team not being able to raise their game (shortly after calling us f***ing c unts). I am blaming the players's crap performances for not inspiring me to spend £450, four months ahead of next season. In my mind that's reason enough to mention why I will probably not bother.

Hardly out of context in view of el Abd's load of nonsense-especially as it was directed at me and thousands like me.

It is a factor in every ground in Britian, when a club is not exactly 'setting the league alight'.
AeA expressing this, only goes to show that he is frustrated as the fans, and that he wants The Albion to succeed as much or more than most.

Come on, show SUPPORT for Adam, the bloke is a bloody Brighton LEGEND and putting his heart and soul into it.
He deserves support, and so do Coxy, Jake, Guy, Sam and all the players.

The ONLY people to be booing at, are the tossers who don't get behind the team but get on top of them. They can f*** off and support Chelsea, or even palace for all we could do with them.

If you think El Abd is an Albion legend then you must be very new to this 'Supporting the Albion lark'

El Abd is far from being a "legend", obviously. He's done ok, he's quite versatile and has done a reasonable job in midfield during Oatways prolongued absence. It gets on my tits when he crashes to the floor clutching his face for no reason, and he macked me off last week when he called me a c unt and a wanker for boo'ing at the final whistle. but overall he's still worth his place in the side IMHO.

At least until Paul Reid is fit again.

This is something that has been brought up many times (from the club) at SOL meetings.

I suspected for a while that from the playing staff and coaches there was a feeling that away fans were "better fans" than home fans, particular after there was a move to "reward" fans who went to the cup game at Millwall.

I found that odd at the time because it's the SAME PEOPLE who whilst being vocal at for example Orient away will come to Withdean and sit there quiet all game.

It's not the fans themselves, it's the environment and people are tired of it.

Alright, so el-Abd has not the potential at Brighton, he can go off and be a legend for some other team. right.

He gets stuck in, so, for some odd reason he thinks that he has a right to feel hard-done-by when 'fans' shout shit at the team instead of supporting. Who does he think he is, he should get stuck in for some team playing against us, that will be what our 'fans' deserve.

By the way, I am so new to all things BHA, I used to crawl under the fence on the Goldstone East terrace when I was 5, to see the Brighton.
I wouldn't know an Albion legend, they are only the ones that score blinders every week from all angles and distances. Players like Tiger Tony Towner (local lad, actually) deserved the abuse he got from the East Terrace FAGGOTS game in game out.

Glad I got big and flush enough to pay to get into The North Stand where I didn't have to listen to the moaning wankers!

If you think El-Abd is a legend, you are setting your standards way too low.

He is a reasonable player who tries hard, but far from a legend.

So, who exactly do you like? I mean who is 'good enough' in your eyes?
I want to know, who is it you pile your praise upon, when you go with your Albion heart ready for a match that the opposition are also trying hard to win?

Young player, getting better, improved even more in the midfield, gets stuck in and sets a good example to the team.
It's hard to think of anyone more deserving of praise right now, and his passion and caring for the Stripes he wears is evident.
If people can't see that this is the sort of attitude we can build on, and prefer to alienate and criticize el-Abd, then we won't be seeing him improve and mature and display passion for Brighton much longer.

the answer is a ROOF

where ever we go where there is a good atmosphere, it isd because there is a roof where the sound is channeled.

BUT this is never going to happen, so until Falmer is granted, we are f***ed.

You are spot on about the ROOF. Think North Stand Goldstone.
Also at such as Brentford, Portsmouth and Gillingham the core support is galvanised from a focal point, unlike the ramshakle of disjointed and totally noise unfriendly stands at Withdean.

Sitting down and being so far from the pitch exacerbates the problem.

Too fcuking right...

The manager and players need to take FULL responsibility, ably backed-up by the tight purse strings of the board... trying to blame the home fans is a scandal, IMHO...

... and what an absolutely devastating loss that would be... oh no, I can't stand the thought of the pain that would cause... please, please stay Adam...

He was completely out of order... his apology was weak...

The club should have disciplined him...

The manager and team need to take a long look at themselves... people in glass houses and all that...

They probably did. They have a fines system as well as other measures which may have been taken.
Why do you assume that he hasn't been disciplined just because it isn't public?

Other than being a miserable old git is there an actual reason you support the Albion?
