Seen a kid with Albion shirt - Vicente 15 on the back.
That was my son who is about to take up his first ever season ticket in the Upper East this season.
That was my son V No.2 K... He saw the stripes & had to dash over! We were at the Gabon match too; not great i have to say, but a good day out had by all.
We've been to Wembley for tours etc, but yesterday was a match first for us too. It may be a great Stadium - but the seats are bloody uncomfortable.
Amex 1 Wembley 0!
Couldn't post last night because my phone died on me after taking so many pictures around London yesterday, but what a day. Such a brilliant atmos around London, what struck me was the amount of Olympic Helpers literally everywhere you went. Walked from west ham tube up to the Olympic park then up to Westfield centre. People wearing flags of every nation around them athletes milling around signing photos and fans having pictures taken with them. Then onto Hyde park watching everything on the big screens. Saw one Albion top with Noone on the back, wanted to say high but you were on the phone. Then on to an amazing wembley, having beers on the Concorse and watching wiggo win gold. The game wasn't the best but what an atmosphere, 76.000 bloody nightmare getting out mind. Then back over to Hyde park for beers, burger and team G.B football on the big screen.
Even if you haven't got tickets I advise any one to go up to London and roam around and maybe go to Hyde park. Lovely atmos in London such a buzz about the place, but there's only one problem.
I REALLY WANT TO GO AGAIN NOW!!!!!!!!!!
I was at Cardiff for GB v Uruguay. Skipped the prior Mexico v someone game before.
I've always thought Cardiff hosts big sporting events well and yesterday was no different - lots of colour and general happiness. It was also good to be back in the Millenium Stadium - it's still an awesome place when in the seats themselves, although the concourse areas seem to have aged very quickly - they seem so poor compared to the Amex.
The football itself was all a little bit strange - nothing like watching the Albion, of course, and also not like watching England. We retreated to the concourse about 20 minutes in and watched the rest of the game on the screens with beer in hand.
C&O pasties and bacon baguettes seemed reasonably priced @£3.50 but they'd sold out before half-time meaning it was an egg sandwich for me. It was £6. Six pounds. SIX.
Headed off back to the train station at around 80 minutes, but it all started to go wrong then with the station swamped. Got back to Bristol after half past midnight having missed all onward connections. Really feel for those who were behind us in the queueing system.
We have tickets for the GB quarter-final on Saturday at the Millenium Stadium - not decided whether we'll actually use them yet or not though.
