I knew this phrase would roll on...

It started with 'It's only September'. Then 'It's only October' and now 'It's only NOVEMER'.

Sake! :censored:

...are these people going to be saying 'It's only May'? ???

P.S. Not sure if anyone has noticed that it's actually nearly DECEMBER!

No, I'm trying to say to those people that because it's 'Only November' that doesn't make our league position somehow alright. It's not. It's a f***ing shambles, is what it is.

What a stupid post. We are not even halfway through the season so the only November comment is very valid. Why not get behind the team? We will not sack Adams as it will cost a lot and probably take up our January transfer budget.

and Wilkins first season in charge went well didn't it. We stayed up two games from the end of the season.

That was his FIRST season as a pro manager. He had a below average team, and no money to spend. Plus he had to deal with the 'come down' of being relegated from the championship.

People, including myself, say 'it's only November' mainly because of fans wanting Adams out, to want a manager sacked after 3 months is ridiculous (especially for a league one side).

Also because it is only the beginning part of the season, a run of good form and who knows how far up the table we'll go.

What is our main aim of the season? To stay in this league at least. To go up would be great but it's not the end of world if we don't, there's always next season. In my opinion we're not good enough to go up yet, not that I'm choosing to stay in this league of course I'm not, but I'm saying if we don't then we can build on the team and start again next season.

But I'm not calling for Adams' head. You misunderstand.

What I'm saying is that so far this season we have been VERY poor, and my gripe is that people are using 'It's only November' as a passable excuse for the season so far.

I'm sorry but your post is rubbish, especially the middle bit. How can you call it the beginning of the season when we've played 4 short of the halfway stage. I think this is exactly why people get sick of hearing "it's only November...". The implication is that it's far too early to say where we'll end up but a little bit of maths and a look at our form and general performance will tell you we would have to do something quite remarkable to be even close to the play offs.

The main aim of the season was to make the play offs, it seems now everyone would be satisfied with staying up. Well done Adams, what an achievment.

One thing we do agree on - you're right, we're definetely not good enough to go up. Who knows though, with Wilkins in charge we might have been.

I haven't misunderstood, I understand quite clearly what you are saying. You made the point about people saying it's only November, and Adams out is the main reason people use that statement.

Nobody uses it as an excuse, we have been poor at times, but this all started back in the middle of October. When all the 'Adams out' 'relegation' started we weren't doing great, but we weren't doing terribly badly either. In my opinion the fans started far too early with the doom and gloom and I think in some ways has quite a bit to do with how things have eventually become now.

EfE, I can't be bothered to quote the specific post, but you say "it's only the beginning of the season" - we're a 3rd of the way through! Will you still be calm in April and say it's the beginning of the season?!?!

The fact of the matter is we are one point of the relegation zone after 18 games, that is simply not good enough. Brings back the question why Wilkins was sacked. Could you imagine if we went down this season? I would be in tears.
