'It's only November...'

We are 14 points from the last play off spot, which is Oldham. We play them next up, and its at their place.

If we lose, that is a SEVENTEEN point gap to IMPROVE on our position last season. It doesnt matter who the manager is, we should look to improve, ALWAYS.

We cannot reach 30 points by Christmas which is where we were last season, so it will take an almighty improvement to change our fortunes soon, for this season not to be written off.

Personally I think its too late to achieve anything good, apart from one thing that may save our season. A day out at Wembley winning a trophy. It may only be the JPT, but silverware may get some criticism off Micky's back

I think that we should ignore this 30 points by Christmas because last season we had a very bad time over Christmas and just after and by the time of the 28th game we were in 17th or 18th place in the table so lets look again then to compare it. We gained 30 points by Christmas and 39 after.

This time last year we were 7 points better off, sitting 7th in the table

The teams in the relegation zone were on 13 points, now they are on 18.

The teams in the play off spots were on 26 points, Orient were top on 31 points which is only good enough for 8th place in todays table

We dropped very fast between games 19 and 28 hardly gaining a point so that was 9 games so if we can turn that around in January February we shall be better placed. Keep the faith!!

The difference in points indicate how much more difficult this season is then?

To reach the play-offs we WILL need 2 points a game EVERY game. 2 points a game would give us the 75 or so we need to get 6th place.

Hell, we're only 7 points better off than this same stage in the 2002/2003 season, which puts it into perspective for me.

People, including myself, say 'it's only November' mainly because of fans wanting Adams out, to want a manager sacked after 3 months is ridiculous (especially for a league one side).

Also because it is only the beginning part of the season, a run of good form and who knows how far up the table we'll go.

What is our main aim of the season? To stay in this league at least. To go up would be great but it's not the end of world if we don't, there's always next season. In my opinion we're not good enough to go up yet, not that I'm choosing to stay in this league of course I'm not, but I'm saying if we don't then we can build on the team and start again next season.

well when we lose our next game it will be december... will it still be "it's only december?"

I just don't understand where this huge doom and gloom has come from. People are saying 'it's only November' in relation to the grand scheme of things (meaning 3 years!!). It's Adams FIRST season in charge, if we don't go up and it takes a seaon to build on the team so be it. If we lose a few games and don't make it to the play-offs, so be it.

Why can't people be paitent? Why can't people realise that sometimes things don't happen straight away, sometimes things go wrong but they will be put right. And will happen sooner if people got behind the team, of course people are entited to a moan, but not to the degree it has become.

I think most people accept that we're not going up. That in itself is mildly depressing as, yes, it's only november and already promotion is becoming a distant dream. But that's not the main problem. The problem is relegation is now a genuine prospect. I'm pretty sure that was/is not in anyone's plans.

I think he should change that bit at the end of his programme notes. Change it to something like...

'Season ticket holders; Please, please, please renew next season.'

Not quite as snappy as 'Keep the faith'. But more important!

dont matter
Makes you wonder why? with our financial state, at League 1 level, we'd give any manager a 3 year contract?
Even Fergie, Wenger & Mourinho could make a mess of things at this level, so to risk a 3 year deal with ANY manager is, to me, very foolish.

How about:

Its only November.......... and any chance we had of challenging for the play offs has totally evaporated.

2 points a game every game, not too far fetched:jester:
