The English Patient, bored me to tears, lovely scenery though

Won best film Oscar so it must be me not the film

Oh yeah and Star Wars too, what a load of absolute tripe

As someone once reviewed The English Patient;

You don’t have to be English to watch it but you have to be ****ing patient.

This Is Spinal Tap

I love comedy films (and in general). Just didn’t get it.

No, no, no - it’s a great film - the likes of Judas Priest, Saxon, Scorpions refused to like it as it was based on them

I don’t mind LOTR, I have good memories of seeing them at the cinema with a then girlfriend who was keen on them. Her enthusiasm made it a bearable experience.

Terence Malick films are usually good in theory but excruciating to watch.

As is most of Kubrick’s output.

Malick, Kubrick, Allen, Coppola. I absolutely recognise these film makers altered the way films were made in Hollywood but if we are talking Hollywood, give me Friedkin, Lumet, Spielberg, Hill any day of the week.

Pulp Fiction is the greatest film of all time. The Godfather is a great mafia film but Godfather 2 is better.

Godfather 2 definitely pushes it very close with the irony being that Godfather 3 is pretty poor.

Always preferred Reservoir Dogs over Pulp Fiction.

Most films.

I get iritated that the most banal of commercially produced entertainment is often elevated to a form of art.

Not half as irritating as people talking about films though.

Woody Allen movies. Some are watchable. But funny? Not in my book.

one of my exes was obsessed with Woody Allen so I had to sit through all sorts of shit

couldn't stand any of them

An Officer and a Gentleman - tedium defined, and crap music, Cocker should have been embarrassed.

"Horror". I don't see the point of being frightened for entertainment purposes.

Exactly the same. I didn't realise quite how many films he had made. Unfortunately, she did.

Guy Ritchie directed Hugh Grant in Paddington 2? I missed that particular slice of cinematic gold.

This is a film I would certainly watch . . . part 3 maybe?
