I do give helpul advice like " pass the f*** ball to one of our own players" in rather a loud mode as either Richards or Whing hoofs another long ball down the wing and out of play! So what does that come under criticism or advice?

It depends. A lot of the time, they aren't given much choice. On Tuesday in front of the North stand Richards intercepted a forward ball and with the ball coming across him from his left and a striker on his right shoulder, just laid the ball back towards the centre back (might have been Lynch) only to get someone shout from the stand "pass the ball forward!". Why?

And when we are playing from our current limited choice of central midfielders, the only outlet balls the full-backs usually have is long in to the channel or back to the centre-back. If they were any good at the long ball they would be challenging Ashley Cole or Wayne Bridge for places, not on loan at Brighton, so unsurprisingly when they play it long it often goes astray. When it doesn't you get a goal like Murray's on Tuesday. If they pass it back they get howls of "get it forward".

I am joking, but do you see that if I shouted this out and some times it is true they do belt it out when a short ball is on. Am i now considered a whinger when I get frustrated with this play?

You can always come to J Block as there is plenty of space and hear some of H Blockers hilarious digs at the stewards and Wilkins.
If only they put that much effort in supporting the team...

Football fans moan at shit performances. It happens in every ground, every week. Get used to it. The people on here who want to wrap the players in cotton wool and protect them from all the nasty people who have paid £24 to see them misplace 5 yard passes need to get over themselves. If it's shit we moan, if it's good we cheer. Nothing changes the fact we WANT the team to win. Anyone who actually decided to make things "kick off" because they couldn't cope with a little bit of criticism aimed at professionals would end up looking a LOT more of a twat than any moaner - fact.

i sit in f block and some of the crap we had to listen to on tuesday was awful - we had the usual idiots slagging the team the dugout - and to top it off we had 2 stupid little girls sitting near us going on about oh looks at his legs oh look at his hair and after 45 mins of that from them we could have screamed - i felt like telling them to f*** off down the youth club - What we need to do is go and support dean and all the team - the constant critiscing and booing and adams in and dean out is very unnecessary - how is that going to help anyone on and off the pitch - I certainly don't want to listen to whingers all afternoon - some people keep saying that they haven't paid to what "shit" as they put it but i don't pay to listen to " their shit " all afternoon

I would guess that, that comes under serious abuse to the ball..........................balls have feelings. I know that for a FACT.

I thought thats what everyone did! Can't see how it makes you a moaner. we just want the team to do well. If it wasn't for the 'moaners' on tuesday, we would have listened to 80 minutes of being outsung by 35 Cheltenham fans.

Opinions on an opinion board. How dare we.
If you pay for a brand new H.D tv and when you open it up you realize its broken you curse under your breath and you take it back. If a soccer team is doing shit you say it out loud.
You perform like a twat at work, you get told so. You perform for an audience and they tell you so.
Paid the money, support the team, shit performance, tell them so.

Oh go 'support' someone else with this "i defend my right to whinge and moan" shite. When under the scrutiny of shitty windy whinge-bags, do you expect players to play natural relaxed football?? How-about if you were under pressure to put all your work into one presentation in front of a lot of people at a moment important to your career - and they shouted derogatory remarks, told you what to do, then told you you did it wrong with angry derision?

Put energy into deriding Oldham, point your angry words at those 'twats', and call that getting your £24 worth.
Then, cheer the Albion. The manager and rest of the team can see clearly enough, if one of ours screws up or has a bad match - they don't need a running commentary of nasty angry remarks to see if someone's incapable of placing a short pass.

There ARE going to be misplaced passes.
There ARE going to be moves that come to nothing.
There ARE going to be overhit through balls.
There ARE going to be chances that fall to Oldham.
There ARE going to be Albion players losing the ball or getting tackled or caught in possession or passing backwards or giving away free kicks.

Get OVER it, and get behind The ALBION.

ffs. ???

Surely in a democracy where you pays your money, then you expect value for that money...ie you go to a restaraunt, buy clothes, buy a cd/dvd, you don't like them, you complain...........what's so different about a football match?? If all is going well you applaud, shout encouragement, if not, then you react differently.
On the subject of swearing, has anyone told the players that they're not supposed to either ??
So Portlock Seagull, as you started this stupid thread (my opinion, which I'm entitled to!) make sure you stamp your foot, pout your lips before you lay into the team !!!!

Spot on......if a team isn't playing well , they will respond better to support rather that howls of abuse .... we have seen it this season so many times but it normally takes a goal from them to spark the crowd. It should be the other way round ! get behind them from the off !! be this so called 12th man

I would never put myself down as a whinger. BUT, when was it decided that Nsc could tell anyone how to support their team. You're entitled to your opinion but thats all it is. Maybe DK should make an announcement before the game,"If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything." Cue silent Withdean.

Herman, I don't think that NSC is trying to tell people how to support the team but what it is doing is airing its collective frustration at the number of people who go along to Withdean and just seem to moan constantly throughout the game or shout abuse at the players. How easy would it be to turn those words of abuse into words of encouragement, or boos into cheers, I would love to be at Withdean today as I reckon the atmosphere could be interesting...that is to say there will be NSCers trying to back the team with greater vigour than normal and encourage others to do likewise...if you take that as telling people how to support the team, fine, I call it voicing support...isn't that what we all purport to be...supporters! (who if asked would say that they were a Brighton whinger, rather than a fan or supporter?).
