I never recognised Mother's Day or Father's Day when my parents were alive. My justification then was ... "When there's a Son's Day, I'll buy you something on Mother's/Father's Day".
I mean we dont have a COUSINS day or anything do we!

Father's day really is a bunch of crap (just like mother's day).
Decent kids appreciate their fathers every day of the year and don't need a special day (invented, no doubt, by Hallmark Cards) on which they have to be reminded what a good Dad they've got.
I have told my sons never under any circumstances to buy me a card or gift for Father's Day ... ever!

One of the saddest days of the year is Mother's Day when all these poor mothers get dragged out to lunch by their offspring as though it's the only time they get taken out. Awful.
