I don't think it does speak volumes. I think it's one situation which is being used to prove a point which is hard to prove.

The (mainly white male) Police force, in this case do not have a pro-muslim agenda. By using that clip as proof that the Police have double standards isn't helpful to any discussion.
Mate , youre (sorry but this is the best way to describe it) talking absolute double speak bollox, the bloke was running about hitting people with a stick, tell me why he wasnt arrested ?

Oh him. Brother's friend. Last saw him at the Man City game. You haven't bumped him off, have you?

I certainly wouldn't bother with a second account it's easy enough to bait the Far right with one account, duplicate accounts are for losers like @Bushy.
Oh him , like you'd forgotten :lolol:You call your posts baiting ? Only in your bedsit behind a screen mate :lolol:

I'm sure the Police would have acted the same had it been TR assaulting a muslim man with a stick right in front of them.

I agree though, the Police do not have a pro muslim agenda. They have sit on their hands and hope it goes away agenda.

Just ask the people, and particularly the young girls of Rotherham and Telford for a start.

So I have a second account where I say that I lived in California and beat up a club full of skinheads at Huntington Beach? As a champagne Socialist I can assure you my main home is not a bedsit.

You seem to be making an assumption about white males, why is that?

I don't know. I would love for him to have been arrested, get that clear. Maybe the police are shit at their job?

If he faces no punishment, I'll be both angry at the Police and asking why they didn't do their job, but also angry at Tommy Robinson for using this one example as evidence for some sort of institutional bias.

Pretty dumb thread. Like saying we should curb free will as people sometimes murder each other. There are laws that cover this sort of thing, hate speech etc, but the lines seemed to be like VAR, rather bendy.

I think the more pertinent point to be made here is to educate everyone on what "free speech" actually means. Because it sure as hell doesn't mean you can say whatever you want. There are limits, and society needs to a) stop deluding itself that free speech doesn't have limits, and b) start enforcing those limits appropriately.

Our society needs to keep the "Paradox of Tolerance" in mind: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradox_of_tolerance

(Note that the legal framework that enshrines "free speech" in the UK *is* already intolerant of intolerance. Unfortunately it's just not enforced strongly enough).

Well im pretty sure you were all over the Brexit thread ??
Yep, and I've no objection to the odd political thread, particularly one with such national importance.

However threads originating from unknown posters who ONLY post politically motivated stuff, that I object to.

Do you have a suggestion? Disclaimer: probably an academic exercise - it’s not my site!
How about at least 10 posts on football, a couple on the toughest creatures and a comment on a picture along the lines of Y,Y,N,Y,N, before a political thread can be started?

Good idea; highly manual process though. You volunteering?

We do have an automatic system whereby the first n posts made by a new account have to be approved by a mod before going live. This system was introduced around the time of the Boro infestation about 2 years ago, so before the OP joined up - so I don't know whether the OP's post automatically went live or was approved by a mod (I suspect the former). AFAIK, there's no way of adding an algorithm to additionally look at the content of the first n posts - I highly doubt it...it would need to be a pretty sophisticated AI.

one example ? one example ? ye gods have you been on mars for the last few years and missed the part where grooming gangs were routinely ignored by both the police and local authorities for fear of accusations of racism ? it beggars belief
