Fortunately I have access to two viable income sources (the cab and I also work in Risk Management up in town for a bank)

The cab was always a back up / top up and gives me something to consider at semi retirement age.

Footfall in London on Friday was noticeably down as expected. The cab trade relies heavily on the Arab visitors from March up until the Chelsea Flower show. (The kipper season as it’s known) I have garages offering 25% reduction in rent for the next month to mitigate the fear of an influx of cabs being returned.

In the day job surprisingly we haven’t seen a reduction in fixed bonds even after passing on the base rate cut as the demographic are typically 60+ and this isn’t day to day money, however I expect breakage requests to increase soon.

The BCP has been ramped up and we are gearing towards the whole office working remotely (I start week after next.) I worked remotely for 3 days straight previously and struggled with the discipline then, so the next few months will be telling.

My advice (not financial!) would be for anyone who doesn’t have a buffer would be to contact any firms you have commitments with proactively when the time is right, most sensible firms will work with you to defer / find a viable solution.

The housing market will lock down for 3-6 months like everything else and that was after 3 and a half crap brexit years and that gets resolved and then the virus immediately turns up

My business ground to a halt over 3 1/2 years, Fortunately I have a trade and got back into work in November . . . . my business is back to being a hobby job. I should be able to work from home too . . . . as can Mrs Zef . I know so many people who are self employed and/or in dindustries which will just shut down until things get batter . . . hardship all round for many people.

Not seen anything yet to see whether or not it will impact on me.

I'm a locksmith...I'll still get people phoning up locked out, or unable to lock doors, burgled, moving home, evictions etc etc.

Also fortunate enough to have no mortgage on either property and rental income as well.

Luckily nearly all my business in done on line on my own in my flat. However the housing market is already suffering hugely as people are getting too scared to make any major life changes atm so my income will reduce I am sure

my flat is on the market at the moment and the amount of viewings has pretty much ground to a halt. We were getting about 10 a week and now it's more like 1 or 2 if we're lucky. Not expecting any for a few weeks

Yes, I'll be out of business within a month, no clue as to what I'm going to do when my small amount of savings are eaten up.

Professional gambler who relies on horse racing for a living which mainly means getting cash down in shops. I'm surprised, and pleased, that racing is still going ahead but am slightly wary of travelling to London to get the cash on at the moment. Racing maybe able to go ahead for a while behind closed doors which will help but at some stage the betting shops will be shut down I guess which will mean relying on Betfair as have no access to other accounts and any I can use just get shut within months.

We have no mortgage and the Mrs has a couple of small pensions, also the last year has been the best I've ever had so we can carry on living for at least a few years without any further earnings. Cheltenham last week was a bonanza which will cover at least five months bills, handily.

Bit of a worry but can't do anything about so wont be worrying too much about it. More concerned about the parents catching the virus than worrying about money at the moment.

I run an international distance learning provider and initially thought we would be fine but last week the calls, enquiries and applications pretty much dried up. Most courses are paid by employers who are now obviously holding off enrolling their employees due to not knowing what the future will bring. I can work from home though.

I find it incredible that horse racing is allowed to continue, either a Jockeys life is worth less than a footballers or the financial implications of a stoppage are more important, very strange situation and I'd be amazed if it didn't stop soon.

Easier to find people whose livelihood isn't threatened. Teachers, er...

I think those in frontline public sector jobs- teachers, social workers, medical staff, police, fire service etc etc will be expected to carry on as normal

my wife is a social worker, and while she'll be expected to work primarily from home there's no way they're just going to close social services

I work as a travel writer, mainly guidebooks. No one is commissioning anything, insurers are not covering trips so there's little or no work on the horizon at all for months. I'm ok-ish as just finished a project and don't live beyond my means. Plan to travel around the UK a bit and catch up with friends in distant spots over next few weeks.

Superspreader alert!

All jokes aside I’m glad the impact for you will be limited.

Working in finance it probably means risk of redundancy

It's all fixed so people like Frankie can have a bonanza! Every horse I picked, even the favourites either fell or come last! I'm sure it's all fixed

I’m going off on a nosey tangent here but how does being a professional horse racing gambler work? You obviously need quite a lot of wins which are down to something other than luck. Do you have a formula? Or does it work on inside knowledge? I guess you need a lot of confidence in your bets to rely on this as an income? Genuinely intrigued.

Bars and restaurants have pretty much all closed now, either they don’t have any custom and/or they can’t comply with the Senate’s conditions to stay open. Two craft beer bars are now closed and switching to online and physical bottle-shops with delivery. One is selling future-use vouchers to bring in some cash. Obviously the vouchers are a bit of a gamble as the business could fold but I plan to buy one every week until they re-open. I feel quite strongly about this place, The Muted Horn, as it’s a young, talented and very knowledgeable couple who have sunk everything into creating quite a special, friendly and award winning bar.

I visit peoples houses to do my job.
Just had my first cancellation for a job on Friday as they are over 70.
I have work in the diary up until 24th but it will be interesting to see if my phone stops ringing this week.

Yep.

The Japanese government closed all the schools in Japan for March. Which is a bit of a bugger because my company utlilises their facilities. We're alright for this month but if the schools don't open in April we'll be in dire straits. And I hated having to listen to their best of in the car as a kid, being in them would be unbearable...
