I went to the opening (happy clappy U21 game) and have been back on a 'business trip'.

I'm not talking about the atmosphere. I just find the whole stadium dull and unimaginative. The whole area is plain and depressing.

Give me Twickenham anyday.

Edit: I pass it regularly on the train and forgot I had been there for an American Foolsball game. Just doesn't do anything for me as a structure.

I was at that game too actually - 3-3 and I won £50 on it :)

I think big stadiums are v hard to make look majorly different (ie 90,000 people) - there isn't much space to play with really if ya know what I mean. It's not depressing to me it's amazing but hey ho.

I feel as angry and disillusioned with the England side as the day we got knocked out.

Whether I watch or not will depend entirely on who is pciked for the squad. It's a given the crowd will be low and the usual suspects like Lampard / Terry / Gerrard will get booed. Yet the sad fact is there's not enough time to revamp the side in time for it to gel before the 2 vital qualifiers.

I almost hope Cappello puts out two sides on the night: the "old guard" in the first half who should be shamed into giving some sort of performance and maybe go into the break with a 2 goal lead, then the "new blood" in the second half who can play with freedom.

I don't mind England games so much, my girlfiend really enjoys them so it does give me a chance to go and see some football with her.
Also the atmosphere is different so its not like watching the Albion with a group of mates...
We joined Englandfans in the summer so do find of feel that i'm now going to have to do a few games that i may not have bothered with in the past to earn a cap.
We got tickets for the Hungary game before the world cup, we have both agreed that if thier is another friendly against a not so well known sqaud we won't bother again. But I do believe that we are due to play France and Holland at Wembley in the next year so will do them if thats the case.
I have got Wednesday off so we are going to make abit of a day of it in London, so it won't be soley about the Hungary game.
