She’s not. It’s the first defence of the extreme right. It’s what they call anyone they don’t like. Quite insulting really.

You must have a sixth sense pasta, that is exactly what is happening (supposedly). There is in Bristol now a febrile level of hostility on all sides of this debate. The mayor (black dad, white mum) is getting more racist abuse than ever from both sides......and is adding security costs to his budget, on top of previously approved increases in pay for councillors.

Bristol City Council (BCC) have been under pressure to disclose costs of clean ups and retrieving statues, which they have reported as £2.5k yet that required buoyancy equipment and specialist divers but is less than cost of removing the new statue so you can appreciate that issue is still running.

BCC did confirm the monies used for this purpose do come from a “general fund” used to deal with overspends on matters including social care, so you can imagine how that went down!

The council and other parts of city institutions are now caught in a intractable web of wanting to replace names etc. but of course, it’s not about that, because where there’s an admission of guilt, “capitalism“ is not far away. For example Bristol University got money from Colston and other recently designated ne’er do wells, so just changing the name and logo is mere tokenism.

Genuine restitution apparently will involve the sale of university property and/or replacing trustees with BAME representatives.......it’s fooking delicious what is happening, because now the white liberals running the university that supported BLM look like they want to keep control, and keep the black man down!

BCC are fooked too, they want to run a committee to investigate restitution, but they better not cut the budget elsewhere.........if only they could find a benefactor with a few quid eh!
