Adams is showing little or no regard for the fans.

"I didn't realise we had to be in the top six by October."

"They will have to just get on with it."

Now he is labelling people idiots. So a few beered up people gave him a bit of stick. One way to solve it Micky, start WINNING.

What worries me is the 'I know who the enemies are' statement, does that imply that there are problems within the squad or the club? Or is he just labeling some of the fans enemies?

And this is EXACTLY what I mean!

By saying stupid things like this, Micky creates specualtion amongst fans when it is the LAST thing we need right now.

Whether Naylor took the quote out of context we do not know, but one thing for sure, like you said comments like this create more questions when the magnifying glass is already focused on you as it is!

Is Naylor trying to split the Albion fans into factions?

To be fair Richie, the way some people on here SPOUT off without knowing the full facts, shows little or no regard for Adams, the players and the club.

It's a free world and we are all entitled to our opinion, whether it's across the advertising hoardings or via an internet forum. If he thinks some Albion fans are idiots then that's up to him. Some Albion fans ARE idiots so he's hardly making an earth-shattering pronouncement!

Yes, the team needs to start winning but in the same way we all kick-off on here, I don't think Adams should be criticised unduly for kicking off in a newspaper interview.

He hasn't made things harder for himself nor proved he's an easy target, as people would be on his back whatever he does, he's just proved that he won't take that kind of abuse from fans, and so he shouldn't.
Oh he has, it's the way of the world, the more you give to more you end up having to take and by giving abuse back he will get a lot more next game if things aren't going well... Not from me I might add, I'll keep my mouth shut by not wasting money on the current drivel.

I disagree. Wasn't one of the reasons people criticised Wilkins his alleged inability to deal with the media properly? I don't see how slagging / poking fun at your own fans is a step up...

Also, managers should remain professional AND, more importantly, Adams does not pay the fans wages. The fans DO pay his.

We will OBVIOUSLY have to agree to disagree on this one. The one thing we definitely DON'T know is the context in which the comment was made - it's certainly in Andy Naylor's interest to dress up the comments in as provocative way as possible!

One thing though. If the readers of your newspaper (who pay your wages) gathered outside your office and, as you arrived at work, shouted abuse at you for a series of articles you had written, would you seriously just walk past, maintaining a dignified silence?

I haven't read the rest of the thread but Micky is losing it big time. Of course people will be calling for his head and giving him abuse BEFORE the game, because we have been SHIT for the past THREE MONTHS. Just because we have a game in 5 minutes time it doesn't mean we have to be up his arse.
Oh it didn't help the players on Tuesday night, Micky? Get a plausible excuse for not winning PLEASE instead of blaming the fans. We didn't win because you have no clue what you are doing and the team are playing some shocking football.
