If we are top three or four come Jan, which I think we will be. I think he will stay till end of the season then he will be our first signing if we go up to championship £1.5m.

I think our coaching staff are going to improve him, his form is being monitored and I would not be surprised in January when his loan period runs out Newcastle will arrange another loan with a Championship side.Next season based on his form they could either play him or put him on the market for a large fee.

If we was to go up. With the tv money, Falmer season tickets and all the revenue the new ground will bring I would have easily thought so. £1.5m for Lualua would surely be a sound investment for the club. Unless he had a serious injury, his value would surely only increase.

tbh I will worry about next season once this one is out the way.

My main concern is if/when he leaves in January the influence it is going to have on the rest of the team as he is quite clearly such a useful outlet at the moment.

Looking at Newcastle today, Routledge is second rate at best (& an ex Palarse scumbag). So we should be looking to spend £500k on Lua Lua and ensure he stays South coast.

With my compilation of stats this year I've decided to keep track of player ratings for him on here and currently he's not even our highest rated player. He's in 7th place for season average* ratings (with an average of 6.79 - top is Gary Dicker with 7.25)

*I've averaged out the scores per game to get an average game rating, then averaged out those game averages to get a season average

The only thing letting him down is his finishing. If he scored more he'd be playing in the premiership week in week out.

How much does he have left on his contract?

+ his decision making sometimes when he runs past a pass would be the better option but he is exciting to watch

No where near Premiership level, he could perhaps be at a lower Championship side but why bother when involved with a winning team.

Well if Kieron Dyer is considered "premiership level" then I sure as hell think Lua Lua could comfortably be considered in that bracket as well.

Caught Offside are reporting this morning

'Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson is considering a January move for Newcastle United winger Wayne Routledge - if he gets enough funds from the Anfield board.'

Routledge was pretty chronic yesterday, so I doubt we will see Lua Lua at the Withdean after January, alas.

Under your skin.
As long as we keep Bennett I'm not too fussed. Bennett is a better player

Doesn't his contract run out at Newcastle in the summer? Hence the reason he's only on a 6 month loan....

Sorry to ask, but what amazing form?

Yes, he's gone past players, generally late in the game. He's bloody fast. He's scored a goal and set one up. He's looked dangerous and I love it when he gets to the line and cuts the ball back. But he rarely seems to look for other players - just keeps trying to beat players until he can see the goal. His shots have been hard but ineffective thus far.

I'm over stating the case of course, but he's not in amazing form. I think Gus sees him as creating opportunities late in the game - he said as much on the radio. He gets free kicks, corners and gets into the box.

He's bloody exciting but he's very far from the finished article. Would get nowhere near a Prem team as he is right now. Players in better form in the last three games? Bennett, El Abd, Barnes, Kish and possibly Elphick.

Just saying and expect to be shot down.
that`s true, Houghton told him to come here and prove he can score goals which I think has made him a touch too selfish and he`s always looking to shoot instead of pass. Not knocking him though,he`s absolute quality.
