Way out west
There haven't been many players that I have wanted to be a success with the Albion much more than Jakey, particularly the home grown ones, but I am still not totally convinced. He looks so bloody good in the warm ups that it is frightening, but never really converts that into action on the pitch, if he could manage that then we could have the finished article. As an aside, how many youth players have been given their own song by the fans, before they even broke into the first team? He certainly has a place in all our affections, this coming season I am looking for him to make some serious down payments on rewarding our faith in him.

have seen glimpses that he could be a decent player. Still not consistent enough and problem seems to be when he comes off 2nd best in 1st 10 mins of a game as he virtually goes missing. Hopefully will of beefed up a bit over the summer. This season surely is a make or break for him.........we seem to say that every year.

I would f***ing love it if he did explode onto the league 1 scene. Prove us wrong Jakey

He needs to stop bottling 50/50s. His size does not help him either

That's my take as well. He has all the talent but not the commitment required and is easily intimidated.

rediscover his form from october and he will be superb

trouble is, that is beginning to look just like a flash in the pan. add in the fact that he is apparently not dean whites favourite cup of tea, and this season could be his last

Imo he's just not ready and add to the fact he's too small, too lightweight, lacking confidence and can't score to save his life.

Loan him out its the only way.

I was a big fan of his when he first came here, but if he doesn't start performing soon then he'll have to go.

I think Jake's now about as good as he's ever going to be. Like most people, I believed the JR buzz once upon a time, and wanted to believe he WAS the Messiah. Sadly, tho, he's not progressing. Or at least not as a striker. Maybe as a winger? Tho even there he's none too keen on the boots flying in. The new Paul Brooker anyone?

I think that sounds better than the once dubbed 'South Coast Rooney' :D

The old excuse of 'he's young, give him time' has well and truly run it's course now, it's time to produce this year or it's Bognor Regis time I'm afraid.

I missed huddersfield away as was on holiday, so didn't see hes best match of the seaon.

But in the second half of the season it looked like he really needed a goal and at times the luck didn't full for him most noteabily northampton away

I really don't expect too much from Jake this year.
Which is a real shame - cos I used to.

I was looking forward to him developing into something quite special, but I just don't see it happening with us.

Ironically, I think he would do a whole lot better at a higher level, where the referees would give him more protection.

Lets face it, put Owen in League One, and he wouldn't last 5 minutes - they'd kick the shit out out of him.

No he wouldn't. Thats utter tripe im afraid, Owen has commitment and strength and knows exatly where the goal is. JR has none of the required strengths to progress at a higher level

he didn't exactly set the championship alight when he got a bit of a run in the relegation season

the trouble with robinson is simply that he is way too inconsistent - at times he can be brilliant and you feel you have a real real talent - such as in october/november this season, and when he came back from his loan spell at aldershot and broke into the squad at the end of 2004/2005 - burnley away being a prime example

unfortunately, he does it for about 10 games a season and then goes back to doing very little. if he wants to make the grade he needs to become a lot more consistent. if that doesnt happen this season it may be time to cut our loses
