The M23 does not go as far south as Brighton and it doesn't go as far north as Croydon, so definitely not the M23 derby. If you must, then the A23 derby, as that road joins both towns.

Brighton Line derby preceded the M23

Is it the 100th or 101st derby game?

Any name for it outsiders give is going to make it sound a bit cringe. I don't really know why everything needs a snappy and unique title these days. If there was an obvious title for it, it would have been prevalent years ago and is after all not the easiest derby for outsiders to understand (though still not difficult if have a few brain cells and take a moment to think or research rather than regurgitating a crap name and skimming over).

Ask any Liverpool fan who they want to beat and it's Man utd. Ask any Man utd fan who they want to beat and it's Liverpool. It's not Everton or Man city. Your a Sunderland fan. Newcastle is closer than Middlesbrough (without checking) but the other way round, Newcastle would still be your rival.

Sky seem to want us to hate Bournemouth. That's not how it is. A rivalry has history and a proximity. We hate Palace and Palace hate us. That's how a derby works - It's the most important game of your season irrespective that Huddersfield last week was actually more important in the cold light of day for us. I don't hate Crawley because they haven't broken Gerry Ryan's leg, had 4 penalties in one game or knocked us out the play offs.

A derby is a derby because it matters to both sets of supporters. What anyone else thinks about it or calls it is irrelevant.

No one hates Bournemouth because Bournemouth (whilst a cracking night out with a brilliant beach) is synonymous with old ladies and tea. They’re Just tin pot....and they know it.
