Glass Case of EMOTION
Evening all, actually a serious post coming...which makes a change !!

I'm 13 months into a 20 month contract, which I pay £50 a month on Vodafone, for 1200 minutes STC and unlimited texts...does me fine but when I got the contract, I got a nice little LG Viewty which fitted the bill.

However, my alcohol drink bill needed to be funded whilst at uni, and so I parted with it for £150 and it was scratched too...and went back to my old K800i phone...which is ok, except there is a problem with the coverage on it...and it always hangs up on me. which is INFURIATING.

Anyhoo...O2 are dangling the very pretty iPhone and also the Blackberry Bold 9000 in front of my carrot-chasing, grass is greener eyes and I want a better phone...here is my question to you...the fine bods at NSC...

Can I buy my way out of my Vodafone contract now ? do I have the option to do so ? or if anyone works for a phone shop ie: carphone warehouse, phones4u etc etc, can they advise me on the best way to go ? I have the money now...just would like to get a decent phone and I am aware that if I just went out and bought a pay-as-you-go version of the iPhone or Blackberry, the internet is NOT free on Vodafone...so that is not really a GO-ER....

Yes...Unfortunately having a gf in LIVERPOOL when I am in HASTINGS makes me require those minutes and THEN some on the stop the clock, which means I get charged for the first 3 minutes after 7pm til 7am and then thats it...

I do apologise for the SERIOUS breach of NSC duty at this late hour on a TUESDAY night !!! :(

i don't want to see it again, if i'm honest.

but seriously, if you go to phones4u et al. they sometimes offer to pay off your existing contract if it's not too much i think... i might have to look into it myself

but say if i had 8 months on my contract...

8 X 50 = £400

Would they let me pay them £400 and cancel said contract here and now ?

P.S. I really wanted to put the word, ERGO, into this reply...but couldnt find anywhereto fit it in...bad times.:(

I THINK ive learnt my lesson...it shall NEVER reappear..what an ERROR !!!

And...In answer to the phone part of the answer, I'm being a bit of a cheeky C*nt as well...because there is a phone deal out there where you can get a free gift...and I fancy gettin myself an XBOX 360 thrown in...so I don't want phones4u to act as tho paying my contract off is their GIFT....

I pay £20 a month - for Unlimited texts at 600 minutes. I dont expect anyone to care.

But i felt sharing this would make these last couple of TUESDAY NIGHT minutes, glorious.

I am one month away from ending my 18 month contract with O2 for the nokia N95 (although I could have finished in September).
I pay £35 plus £7.50 insurance. I have God knows how many minutes and never use then and rarely use anything like the number of texts I have available. How f***ing stupid is that !!!
At least the insurance paid for a new phone when mine got broken the other week
I intend to go down to £30 a month for the iPhone3G which is 75 minutes and about 150 texts BUT unlinited web browsing plus £99 for the phone. I am too scared to use the internet at the moment as it costs too bloody much.
