I have to admit that I graduated from a serious addiction to CM2 onto a worrying obsessions with CM3. I then upgraded at every opportunity and was hooked on every title since until FM2006 which I just could not get to grips with.

I appreciate all the improvements and extra features and in-depth detail they've gone into but I'm just too shit at it to get any enjoyment from it anymore.

Not played it in months now and I don't reckon I'll bother with the new one.

The last time I enjoyed a Football manager PC game was CM 99/00. I tried to load it yesterday. It loaded fine but wouldn't play saying there was some 'exe' problem and did i want to sent an error report to Microsoft?

Anyways.

I tried by son's FM2005 and was totalluy flummoxed. I much preferred just seeing the highlighted commentary as opposed to all the game highlights with little dots floating around the pitch.

Is it me or should I read the instructions and 'teach' myself again.

BTW Ton Ton Zola Moukoko rules Ok!!

:lolol:

Falmer, soon...
FM has become a bit of a tactical behemoth. Gone are the days when you just picked the 11 best players.

in FM 2005/6 and I'm pretty certain it'll be the case in 2007 You really did have to focus on the tactics and abilities of your players.

As an example.

If you have a Full Back who has pace 5 and Stamina 5, you're going to want him to hold his position and not run too much. If he starts operating like a wing back, he'll be so far out of position, the opposition will exploit it.

Defensively, If he's closing down the opposition too much he'll tire quickly and again will be out of position.

Leeds - resigned after 6 games - losing 6-0 to cardiff was the final straw.

Dumbarton - Sacked! Well there was a take over and they wanted ther own guy in :(

St Johnstone - 5th after first season (not bad with Gretna & Livingston in same division) - 2nd season 4-4-2 was working a treat until 12 games in and can't score for toffee - got a kiddie fron Blackburn ace striker and only 19...

Nice formation mate, thanks for the breakdown.

An open question to all, is Kenny Deuchar still worth getting in FM2007?

Thinking of getting a new lap top with 2.2gb proccesor 1048 mb ram will this be suitable to run FM2007 at a decent speed as the running speed on my old PC - 900mhz drove me mad it took ages to play a season.

Brighton
Lost in playoff final to Brentford 2-1 and had Dick Joseph take over the club who cleared a little of the debt.

In second season currently 2nd, got N'Gotty and Speed from Bolton and Horsefield upfront with Shipperly.

Wen't up in first season on goal difference, mainly thanks to Jakey and Daniel Sturridge (Striker from Man City). Got Dean Wilkins in as assistant manager and the whole team improved. Jake Robinson was then valued at £4.5 million and I had an offer for him from Man United for £12.5 million, I glady accepted.

Well back to the game I go.
