First season with Barcelona:

- Won the European Super Cup,
- Lost the Spanish Super Cup on away goals.
- Won the ridiculously pointless World Club Championship in December (played a semi-final and final, won them 6-0 and 7-0 respectively, which shows what a joke the whole competition is).
- Signed Fabricio Coloccini (£10 million) in the transfer window after having to ask the board for more transfer money. Also agreed a deal to sign Joaquin at the end of the season (going cheap after fallout with his manager at Valencia). Also had just about agreed a deal for Carlos Tevez when my Chairman decided that I wasn't signing enough world-class players, so went out and spent the best part of £19 million on Louis pigging Saha, leaving me with not enough money to get Tevez.
- Retained the Champions League with a 1-0 AET win over Real Madrid.
- Won the club's 3rd straight Spanish League title with 2 games of the season to spare.
- Lost the Spanish Cup Final 3-1 to Valencia.

Now just on the verge of starting the second season. Have brought in Joaquin (as said earlier) and a Brazilian right-back from Sevilla called Dani Alves, who most of the big European clubs have been bidding for. Sold Sylvinho to Bordeaux for £140,000 and Andres Iniesta to Milan (forget how much for).

So far, so good. :)

All you people that start at sides like Barca and any premiership side are muppetts.

Its the lower leagues is what its all about, working through them and then getting offered the big jobs.
Thats when you get the satidfaction, not managing and winning with Chelsea and Barca, a 10 year old could win the league with them.

It's always Queen's Park or Lewes for me. I find it really tough to move on though.

I like to think that this game is all about getting the chance to manage your favourite teams, lower league or otherwise, and I wasn't aware that there were actually any set rules as to what kinds of teams you are or are not allowed to manage at the start of the game.

My apologies for this oversight.

Personally, I get more enjoyment from playing as teams like Barca than I do from playing as lower-league teams (although of course I have a Brighton game going also). Does this make me a bad person somehow ???
