Gus has made it fairly clear that when his dream job comes up, he will be gone. At that point he will probably take his key people with him.

It is therefore important that the club is bigger than the manager - so long as the club is making good decisions for the benefit of BHA, not just to make a point to Gus.

If there's a clash I would call Gus's bluff. Can't see him starting again anywhere else - although I could see him resigning in a fit of pique (remember the "Calderon will never play for BHA again" comments?)

I would imagine that Gus is rather a difficult person to work with and wants everything just right.

However, I am reliably informed that the only dispute in the club at the moment is about the amount of pepper in the steak and ale pies. :glare:

As long as Bloom and Poyet continue to be bosom buddies, the rest can do one.

This is the ultimate relationship at the club-nothing,i repeat nothing must come between these two,any thing else will fall into place,i hope.

Pork pie land.
This is pure conjecture, but, as Stephenson was responsible for bringing new players into the Club, and Gus keeps expecting new players to sign, but nothing appears to actually get completed, I can see Gus getting pretty pissed-off. Maybe, Stephenson was causing too many problems, and had fallen out with Gus over the lack of signings actually taking place? In which case, there is only ever going to be one winner. A functionary or a genius - you decide which you would keep.
