Yes BUT as 3rd choice not as a starter.

This is getting ridiculous.

We can judge him as follows. Bearing in mind he is playing out of position or in a role he is not accustomed to or as a lone striker without any support he should still reach a certain level of performance.

IMO he is still falling well short of this.

From discussion with the many friends/acquaintances/etc etc who go to the games regularly they all agree with this assessment. Now the same people come on here and regularly stick up for him and that's fine, everyone is entitled to their opinion. We know that they are a small minority.

So let's agree to disagree and stop this "Ashley Barnes is not good enough" thread that seems to start after every game. It's just not necessary.

But I agree the "discussion" is going nowhere. TBF while I disagree with the character assassination by the thread starter and others I think HastingsSeagull has it right........... if everyone is fit Barnes is realistically third choice if we set up to attack (although not necessarily so if Gus wants to start with a more defensive line-up) and I would agree also that if we sign another striker it will follow that he is likely to be on the bench more than in the starting line-up.

I do think this poll might not be an accurate reflection of the true opinion.

He does seem to have a few supporters on this forum and that's great because he's going through a bad patch and needs all he can get.

Every game I hope and pray for a good performance from him because I want every player to play well.
