Is anyone else mildly excited about our midfield?

Does look good, I was hoping we wouldn't be as dependent on loan players again this season.

we could have problems if we can't keep hold of at least a couple of the loanees for most of the season.

who gives a f*** if they are on loan or signed. I appreciate what you are saying but as l;ong as they help us wim games , I really don't care

I think I'd rather we got into a good position first THEN worry about it, than just be shit all season.

this is true. not saying it's a bad thing. it is obviously a step up in quality bringing in players like savage. i am just hoping we can get long term deals if anyinsah (who has done well so far) and thornton (have heard good things) turn out to be good players, instead of doing well with them then seeing them leave and being back to square one.

Do you not think we WOULD be able to sign those players permanently should we want to though? I do. Neither will be on HUGE money, neither is desperately wanted by their club, and both would presumably be happy to play regular first team football in league one. I can really see that, if they do well, they could both become proper albion players. I'm hoping for a couple of permanent signings in January. Savage obviously won't happen, but 2 out of 3 ain't bad (Meatloaf).

yes i think it could be very possible. but you have to consider that if coventry and PNE see their lads performing well for us and getting us there or thereabouts toward the end of the season (assuming extended loans) they would reconsider their value to the club.

hopefully though, they both turn into quality players and we get 'em in on the cheap and they treat us up the league.

We have 2 wide guys who can do damage from the looks of things, and hope we can extend the loans, not sure buying an option we could afford.
Totally bemused by Savage coming here, fell out with Derby board/manager,wanted to go to Wrexham as player/coach but the coach bit stuffed that move, rumours up here he on 28k a week warming the bench, how much we paying to have him??
Will reserve judgement until I see his performances, but all my m8s recon he runs around like a headless chicken for 20 mins then just disappears for the rest of the game.

He said that offer came 18 months too soon so is obviously looking to play for another 12 to 18 months

That is ok if he helps us score 2 or 3 goals in the 20 minutes.

Think what it wil be like once McCleod's fit!

(LM),McCleod
(RM) Anyinsah
(CM) Savage
(CM) Thornton

surely this line-up is Championship quality with all the qualties needed for the perfect midfield- width(McCleod), Pace(Anyinsah),Creativity(Thornton) and bite (Savage)

It reminds me a little of the days when we had Brooker,Zamora and Cullip all once on loan through Mickey, what happened next is history but its what Mickey is renowned for!

ps I just saw a clip of Leeds getting thrashed 4-0 by Leicester when they were in the prem on some tv clip, who was the winning manager for that match?

Fully agree. That midfield line up looks quality. Surely we have now seen the last of Virgo in midfield.
I genuinely think with that midfield we now have quality in all areas of the team and should start to climb the table (or at least win a home game!)

Oh God I really really hope we put in a good performance tomorrow - and get a result at the end of it. If this lot were to get booed off the park: I simply don't know where we would go next?

God I hope so. If we can't beat Cheltenham (have you seen their away record ?) we have got as much chance of getting promoted as I have of licking my own bottom (not that I've tried, mind!).

My only concern is it's pretty much a totally new midfield. I wouldn't say any of those players are fully settled in yet, can't be more than about 10 Brighton games overall between that four?

Looks absolutely class otherwise.

We ought to be in the top 6 by the time the girl goes back to Derby. Of course as BB suggests, Micky will probably end up playing Virgo instead of Livermore and f*** it all up. Hope I'm wrong.

Savage wont play saturday, he might get 30 mins.

We should be able to beat Cheltenham regardless of who we field....

Are you sure Brooker and Cullip where on loan; as I recall it we bought them outright in the first place. Zamora was on loan before we bought him though.
