Why shouldn't the Iranians be allowed to produce nuclear fuel? Just because our politicians in the west, don't like it? It's double standards of the highest order. Other countries outside the so called security council have developed nuclear energy and the bomb and no-one goes mad about it, e,g Israel. Why can't other countires do the same? It stinks.

Besides, even if Iran does have the bomb, it would be in 10 years time, they would only have one or two, and they don't have they means to deliver them without spending vast fortunes on the appropriate missile systems. And what will nuking Israel achieve? Even they know the answer is 'f*** all'.

At least if it's only for producing electricity, they are doing their bit for the Kyoto Protocol.

Iran is only a threat to Israel and the USA.

It is not a threat to Europe.

European countries have had normal diplomatic and trading relations with Tehran even after the Ayatollah came to power. So Iran acquiring nuclear weapons would be no different to us than what happened with India and Pakistan. It doesn't necessarily make it good, but it's not anywhere near as bad as the Yanks would have you believe.

The USA is being hypocritical and playing favourites as usual by secretly letting Israel develop nukes, but then dictating that it won't allow Iran to do the same. No wonder they cause so much resentment in the Middle East.

Nuclear weapons are illegal under international law, but that doesn't seem to stop us or the Yanks having them. If Iran shouldn't be allowed nuclear power or fuel on the grounds that they are mad/dangerous, perhaps consider that the British public recently voted George Bush as the most dangerous man in the world. Personally, I'm more worried about an illiterate fool like him having the bomb than Iran.
