Tonight has just proved the point again. If we have a decent centre forward we go one nil up and the whole dynamic changes. Instead we miss a great chance again.

We need a proven finisher and we need a new goalkeeper.

We tried to do this transfer window on the cheap and it’s coming back to bite us badly.

I don’t agree with this. Seemingly we were considering £20M on a keeper that went to Villa, Welbeck certainly not ‘on the cheap’ and coupled with the impact on COVID on the club and Tony personally I don’t blame them for not over stretching

As I’ve felt for the past couple of years.

- We need a better finisher
- we need a better goal keeper

I’m not saying that’s an easy job for the recruitment team, but this has been the case for a while now. In fairness it looks like the club have tried to make moves in these areas in the past windows (Nunez, Martinez, for example).

We’re getting things wrong at both ends. Can’t finish, can’t save. Doesn’t matter how good your team or manager is if you have this problem.
