i was out, but couldnt really work out where to look. How high and in which direction to look.

there were a few things i thought could be it, but with the naked eye I found it hard to tell.

In all seriousness, I'd say it was at an angle of approx 25 degrees from the ground (90 degress being directly overhead). It came into my view from a South Westerly direction, moving towards the East.

Did it have the identification letters "R Y A N A I R" painted in blue on it?

It travelled from west to east. Basically its the only thing in the sky thats moving WITHOUT having any flashing lights.

From west in Southern Sky all the way across to east (took c3 mins). Shuttle looked to be a couple of miles ahead, but as Easy said, prob hundreds of miles apart. Not that high in sky and no flashing, just 1 clear white light each.

Nope :glare:

Sat outside for a good 10 minutes and nothing.
Checked Heavens-Above and found out it was over my way at 19:22 :annoyed:

Tomorrow...18:13 ALT 10 W at a magnitude of 2.7.
Apparently.

And an Iridium flare at 20:02.

Tell ya what that Google Sky App came in bloody handy.....heres the best of about 30odd snaps I took in a fairly hazy sky:

1 - That orange dot in the middle is Saturn!
2 - Lancing College and Orions Belt
3 - Orions Belt from the top of Truleigh Hill

As you know, i live just down the road from you and I saw f*** All, we were looking out the front and back, can't believe we didn't see anything *stoopid alert*

Maybe you had too much "light polution" around you ? I was in my back garden, saw it clear as anything as there's no streetlights getting in the way.

Have another go at 6.17 tonight. The timing is SPOT ON, just keep gazing towards the West / SW, eventually you should see what looks like a star, except its moving across towards the east (well, 2 stars as the shuttle is detached). It was visible for a good 2-3 minutes last night.

Right. So I should be looking South Easterly tonight at 25% angle?
(sorry, I'm interested but confused)

look south westerly (will be travelling towards the east). You will see 2 brightish white lights (not flashing) looking like they are 2 planes flying one behind the other, looking to the naked eye to be perhaps a mile apart (or at least they were last night).
