Why should it be a wind-up, every mention in it has/is probably being considered.

The wind-up is the Ince, Cotterill names being suggested as though they have been in the frame all the time. Whilst his job was always at risk in view of results lately I never have had the feeling that some of the board were ready to ditch him.

Its a crap time to lose or find a manager and anyone now is a stop gap till the end of the season unless they have a blinding change or save relegation. I would have thought someone close to home is far more likely and having just spent on players for Mickey they are not going to be in the position to blow a load more till at least summer.

Even the doubters on here thought those deals were ok so if it was only down to MA's tactics and the coaching (yeah right) an existing change will be ok to save relegation and do till next season.

Personally I think now Micky has gone we are one or two managers away from whoever it is that takes charge at Falmer

The Blooms and Derek Chapman are prepared to accept relegation, on the face of it they can say they acted too late, but more importantly as MA was Tight's project it weakens his postion in the boardroom, ultimately he brought Adams back it went wrong and he will have to carry the can for it.

Why do they need to weaken DK's position if he's already their puppet?
Also if they bring in Gary Stevens and we go down, they can't claim it was too late. The table would prove them wrong.
Hopefully this is all rubbish, as it's worrying to think that boardroom power games are more important to them then the health and status of the club.

As DK becomes more and more of a despotic figurehead of the club we need to be aware of who really is manipulating the puppet strings. The cabal will decide who they want as the next manager so its pointless speculating.

My 'snouts' tell me that Ernest is not too far from the truth but that the Forster and Stevens thing is a smoke screen to take the emphasis away from Jim Gannon. I was also told that my assumption on another thread that he knew about this and that was the reason McNulty and Davies changed their minds and signed for us near the end of the deadline is very close to the mark. So we shall just have to wait and see. I believe that he is either out of contract or on a very short term one like month to month at Stockport and they have tried to get him to commit to them, but he has refused and wants to keep on talking, so perhaps compensation will not come into the reckoning.

Was it not Harty who made the first assertion about Stevens? Perhaps he knows more than he lets on to and is helping to divert attention away from a genuine contender.

What exactly has Steve Cotterill achieved? He had a good start at Cheltenham, brief stint at Stoke where he turned his back on them and failed at Sunderland

he had a good start, middle and end at cheltenham. took them from the doc martens to division two as they were then, won them three promotions and an fa trophy

his walking out on stoke was EXACTLY the same as adams leaving us for leicester - except that he never got the chance to manage the team as the board went back on the original point of appointing him as assistant by getting rid of him when wilkinson went

didn't really do anything special at burnley, but was solid enough there keeping them as a team that hung around mid table with the odd cup upset. at the end of the day he left there just as they wanted to freshen things up

we could do a LOT LOT worse than cotterill - and the two listed at the start of this thread are both examples of that

I think its because I'm so annoyed at the way the club is being run, going back to probably the way McGhee was sacked. Since then we've just made cock up after cock up, I'm not sure I could cope with a cheap option manager and watching the club I love get relegated to League 2.

To me it appears ridiculous to sack Adams for an untried manager -I think Adams had to go (though I think he should of had until after Crewe if you are going to make an ultimatum - not an away game to a top six side). I hope this inside info is wrong - the blooms must also realise that current coaching staff are crap.

What I find is rather bizarre is that they let him spend over £200k in January then didnt give him time to see if it worked unless the new man is going to be Jim Gannon, who sold a player to a club he knew he would soon be managing plus we bought Davies who had been on loan to Stockport and Gannon.
