I hope somebody asked Bryan Swanson (the fifa media man) whether, in the case of somebody who is gay attending the sham tournament and being arrested or beaten for displaying a rainbow flag, holding hands etc, he would blame them or the qatar authorities.
It is easy for him to praise the inclusivity of fifa while he is safe under their umbrella of protection.

Bloke really understands discrimination though.

Ok so I imagine getting 200 lashes with a whip for being gay is pretty bad, but does it really stand up against getting called "f***ing ginger"?

Brighton factually.....
so he suggests europeans should be apologising for 3000 years for what Europeans did for 3000 years…..

forgive me if I’m wrong, but I’m not apologising for anything, and 3000 years really ?
am I wrong in thinking possibly the first great European empire was either roman or Greek,so what 2000 +years ?

before them the Persian and Mesopotamia empires all built on the back of slavery, just like every dominating civilisation.

Christ on a seatless unicycle, don’t try and lecture us on history and lay a guilt trip feckhead.

Part of the quote wasn't in the tweet I posted apparently...

“Today I feel Qatari. Today I feel Arab. Today I feel African. Today I feel gay. Today I feel disabled. Today I feel a migrant worker. ... I know what it feels to be discriminated … I was bullied because I had red hair.”
What a prize plum. Unbelievable own goal yet again.

Mods, please if you can change the typo in the thread title and put a comma in where I've accidentally put a full stop. It's doing my ocd no good! Thanks

I like the implication that the Arabs have only just popped into existence and don't also have 3,000 years of history.

Yes, and then he must have pulled it out, which is what we should have done when Qatar got the gig.

Football just stinks. Is that his opinion or FIFAs. Surely if latter good to know if he got permission if former had no right to say it
