For takeaways, Spice Nutriment in Queens Road is magic.

ganges or ashoka church road are imo the best in brighton. some on the other hand hate them......

Seems to be luck of the draw. I had Ganges recommended to me, and while it wasn't aweful, I didn't think it was anything special.

I'm told the Rajah in Southwick is pretty good though.

The Indian Cottage in Shoreham is extremely good, if you wanted to venture that far.

I have always had nice food in either the Ganges or the Ashoka.

Shoreham isn't exactly the wilderness BoF (but I know what you mean), and the Cottage has always been pretty good.

Indian Summer is very good, but it's not traditional flock wallpaper and vindaloo style.

Be prepared to wait though: I had one meal there and was told it would be 50 minutes and it was more like 75 minutes.

The next time I was prepared and rung up when the train passed Gatwick, only to be told the meal would take over an hour - I've given up since then.

The best Indian I've had in Brighton is Bayleaf on Western Road; it's not cheap though.

To be honest, I normally visit my favourite curry house in Tooting, stock up on 30 or so curries and stick them in the freezer: cheaper and far, far better than anything in Brighton.

CURRY is the ultimate food. i love it. most curry houses float my boat to be honest, except ones that use copious amounts of red food dye and cat meat
