Just take it for what it is. CH & Macron got Erdogan (and many muslims) riled up.
Some extremists decide retribution in the form of murder and terrorism is the correct response. Hence the recent attacks.

If you take to the streets with a gun and start shooting people whilst (reportedly) shouting 'Allah Akhbar' I think that clearly establishes that religion has already been brought into it, but not by a poster posting on NSC.
