Anyone else struggling with delays at Heathrow? Just wondering when to hit the full on panic button
@Carrot Cruncher had a cancellation at LHR this morning - booked onto a later flight.

Flying today, I'd probably not be too worried unless a delay becomes a cancellation.

More worried about my connection from Milan and inability to find anyone from italian Air. Hastily googling alternative Milan - Rome options for this afternoon / evening. Hopefully I cam speak to someone from Italian Air when three boarding desk opens.

Made slightly more complicated by my Hotel emailing to say they shut up shop at 'between 9 and 10pm' which is suitably vague.

CHEERS EVERYONE.

I think we were lucky. Slight delay taking off at Heathrow at 7:30 (instead of 7). It was extremely foggy and surprising we took off but got to Milan ok and, subsequently, Rome. On the train now heading for the Termini station and our hotel, which is opposite.

Safe travels to all fellow travellers and hope any connections aren’t missed due to the delays.

Cheers. Things starting to look up. Plane appears to be here and they've promised to rebook me on a different flight for the connection. I'm hoping someone at the hotel will still be awake when I arrive otherwise I'm breaking in

Check out treinitalia. Son did high speed Italo train from Milan yesterday. Fast and reasonably cheap.

Thanks I'll keep it in the tank as an emergency but they've said they'll book me on a later connection. I'll see what 'later' means when I get there!

Trains from Milan to Rome looking pretty chewy cost wise this afternoon. Was quoted 204 euros to move to an earlier train (I made good time but Carrot Cruncher who I was meeting will have to get later than the one we booked.

Now seemlessly on our way down to Rome from Venice.

Jnr has to acclimatise quickly.
In the airport he was charged with sorting our pre-booked transfer to the station.

He returned with the less than helpful information of:-

'I don't know where we are going but she was stunning'.
'Get used to it Nimrod - you ain't in Kansas anymore'.

Is anyone else at Luton for the 6pm EasyJet flight to Milan? I’ve already spoken to some other Brighton fans, assuming they’d be on my flight, but they’re going to Rome via Barcelona.

This bad boy is currently propelling us to Rome at 154.7mph.

It's just like being on a train in the UK other than being better in every single conceivable metric you can use as a comparison.

The Stansted - Venice - Rome leg was smooth as anything I must say. Lovely journey!

I'm on the 07:00am ITA airways flight from heathrow to Milan. Fingers crossed
The problem earlier was that it was Really Really foggy. That's what caused all the delays. Without that, would.have been a smooth trip. Sure you'll be grand.

Which Milan are you flying to, Malpensa or Linate?

It's a bit much isn't it. I had to change hotels over the phone earlier and fell in love with both of the women's voices who answered. Even when the first one said she was still charging me for one night. Charge away Sofia Loren my love.

The ticket inspector has just been down the carriage (not a euphemism).

Think bespectacled, bald, rotund, Southern collector with gout....

...and you might last over a minute with this stunning lady.
