Silly old bat
Quite.

Can you imagine if, a few years ago, somebody had posted a thread along the lines of "I've been working in Rotherham for a while lately and it struck me as a bit odd the number of young teenage girls hanging around taxi ranks and getting into cars with one, two or sometimes even three Pakistani cabbies..."

All the usual suspects would have come on with replies like:

1. So, don't teenage girls need taxis?
2. Racist
3. Wow - an Asian cab driver! What next?
4. Bet those cabbies get pissed off with those chavvie girls giving them grief
5. Racist
6. What's the fact the cabbies are Pakistani got to do with anything?
7. Racist

etc etc etc

Nothing wrong with using your judgement, even if people do shout you down for it. If something just looks and feels wrong, usually (granted not always) it is.

The difference is that concerns, worries and complaints were made to the relevant authorities who chose to ignore it.
Has BG reported this overcrowding to anyone?

I don't know. But he has posted his concerns on here and by about a ratio of 10:1 been told he is being paranoid, delusional, racist, nosey, intolerant, senile, ignorant and just about everything else. Probably the same response he would get if he reported it as those receiving the report would fear being called the same if they pursued it. And so it goes on.

People have made the most out of your post, but for me there is nothing wrong with judging these days, especially when we are hardly flush with affordable housing in this country.

As a football supporter you might want to re-think that statement. Unless of course you didn't mind being judged by SWEAT as a football hooligan that would kill their pet dogs and piss in all their gardens just because you liked to watch the football every other week ? Not so nice being judged with no evidence whatsoever is it ?

Wrong.Wrong.Wrong.

They have to be habitually resident here first and can't apply for any social Housing for at least 6 months. Also if they are not exercising their "Treaty Right's" they can be removed from the UK. Treaty right's = Working, in education, Looking for work, studying.

Stop panicking and learn the law.

Wrong, Wrong, Wrong..........in Worthing, at least, it is now 2yrs to be added to the social housing list (whether you are indigenous ENGLISH/BRITISH or 'immigrants') even if you can prove your connection with the area through 100's of years of genealogy. So the same could be said of you........Stop preaching and learn the law.

I am just pointing out fact and have no desire to be on a definitive political side!................

Yes because if they earn enough here they are making a valid contribution to the system through the taxes they pay. It doesn't really work best for us if most of the people end up in minimum wage jobs and then need to fallback on our system and claim in work benefits because they can't afford to live. I have always been of the opinion that they are actually taking out more than they are putting in, when you think about what this country offers compared to others countries in the EU. You have to remember there is support for just about everything in this country, which people wouldn't find in their own. I'm glad we are not as daft as Sweden thou.

What about British people who are taking more out of the benefits pot than they're putting in?

I probably could have said that in a different way.

Ok I didn't think of it that way either, but we don't need to add to it. We need quality immigration.

Haven't you introduced yourself and asked if there is anything you can do to help - that's what we do when we get new neighbours.

That way you get to know them and any misconceptions are soon dispelled.

Its not about being nice to them, that really isnt the issue, thats a kindergarten comment.

The bigger issue is the unprecedented mass immigration that have had major implications for many individual people and their services.

Health, Housing, educatioisnt an issue for you, well well done to you.

You Creaky might be swanning around feeling all cosy and uber welcoming, but then again I suspect your own situation hasnt been effected by 750 000 new visitors, why would you care if this might effect your current fellow neighbours.

Perhaps because they can point to families that have contributed to England and the United Kingdom for generations? The social safety net should be a short term fix but, to put recently arrived immigrants from Eritrea immediately on the same footing as natives can irritate many people. Just saying.

Its the british people that create the pot...You can't please everyone in a country and immigrants shouldn't be entitled to a share of that pot for at least 3 years.I find it astonishing that you get a lot of Brit bashing from Brits in favour of immigrants....somes up many Brits these days.

Just saying what? Stealing jobs? Did I mention jobs? Just saying...... I'm talking about people on the breadline, not those who can work and support themselves who think their jobs are being stolen. Get a grip boy.

It happened as I said earlier in the week yesterday, Wednesday to be precise. I went to Ipswich Tuesday and most of my time on here yesterday was about the game and the happenings from that. This morning I took wife's car to the garage in Pyecombe then went shopping in Brighton so on here again this afternoon. But hey why am I explaining my actions.

Oh boy, one person maybe has just found out and you jump on him for that? Blimey! You must be wired into information 24/7 huh? Jeez
Rivet, I think you may have missed my point. I merely suggested that IF the situation bothered BG as much as it seems to have, perhaps he might have raised his concerns that day. I'm not jumping on him at all just commenting on the time lapse between events as I think you well know.

Sorry, but in the context of my reply to the post that is complete bollox. Read what bashldr wrote. He's fine with immigrants so long as they pay lots of tax, ergo put in to the pot. How many Brits do you think owe their employment to foreign companies without who they would not be putting in. Imagine a UK without EDF, Microsoft and Google, BMW etc. Want cheap insurance? How many London based reinsurers that make this possible are foreign owned? SWISS re, MUNICH Re, HANNOVER Re? That booming service industry that's driving the economy? Foreign hotel chains, McDonalds, Starbucks and foreign management consultancies like Capgemini.

Of course you COULD stop this by interfering in the free market. Are you a socialist?

How to make yourself look a bit of a prat DR

I'm all for leaving the EU and controlled immigration and have been for over 25 years. I just don't believe in jumping to conclusions about individuals based on their skin colour, their accent or their car registration.

You and your reasonableness though :shakes fist:
