What i was trying to say is exactly what Turkey wrote.i think todays football put me in a slightly pissed off mood, then the "Gay pride" outside my from door tipped me over the edge.

I have NO problem with gay people/poof's/faggots/lesbiens/nadia's...whatever u want to call them.I have 2 friends who are gay,and my last boss was gay and he was probably the nicest guy you'll ever meet.

What im whinging about is thier open display of it today. All you ever hear is then saying they want to be accepted.to lead NORMAL lives and mix/blend in with the rest of the community.
Then they all go and start marching through the streets with pink jeans and fish net vests like its the bloody mardi gras!!
Now im sorry, but thats not normal. Its days like todat that turn people against them!!

The whole of the town center was brought to a stand still, rougvie couldnt get to my house to pick me up this morning. The buses all stopped running for FOUR hours today.

When the children from out local communities want to march trough brighton for the festival they are not allowed.
Every year thousands of Scouts, girl guides, and youth groups used to march from the Level,to The Dome on St.Georges day.It has now been stopped because the council CANT close the roads. That is our NATIONAL day of celebration.Buts its ok to do it gor the gay's?????

So they are getting special tratment and making themselves stand out from everyone else..........Exactly what they complain about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :flameboun :flameboun

I think for Xmas we should all chip in and buy him a Spellchecker

Another f***ing NIMBY.

Now we have bigots amongst our ranks.

I have sensitive hearing & don't like loud music interrupting my appreciation of : 'The Archers' by that hooligan; Skinhead Nazi-Boy Lard on our lovely beach by the pond.

Junior my son, I am in total agreement with everything you say.
I'm tired of the "right on" attitude we're supposed to show for the Rainbow flag.

The council here bend over backwards (pun intended) for the pink vote/pound; well I just wish that they'd show the same enthusiasm for the football loving, Brighton supporting public that live here, work here & put up with the gay community that have settled here.

I'm not going to use spellcheck, just back from Reading; couldn't give a flying f*** if some smart arse comes on here & calls me homophobic.
I just know that tomorrow morning when I go for my run around Preston Park, I'll see families trying to enjoy our public park; but it'll be littered with used condoms, gay porn, syringes etc...like every year. That is a fact & I'd love to see the end of Gay Pride.

Look ...

When Brighton and Hove City Council start thinking that 60,000 (or so) people can be ignored, that's the time that Albion supporters should despair.

If we are good for the City, then so is Pride.

Actually, junior, you are homophobic. As soon as some says 'I'm not (insert activity/opinion/way of life which is not Middle England-phobia), but...' you know full well they are going to be. And junior, you kindly obliged.

Smduge, I am glad you don't mind being called homophobic. It means I won't have to worry about it. You are extremely homophobic, following the same socio-political line as the BNP. Well done.

If Brighton didn't have its gay activities and carnvials and celebrations, the city would lose out on a lot of revenue. Hundreds of thouands of pounds.

If the bustop parade can close the streets of Brighton for a few hours in proud celebration of the Albion, then so can a few more people close the streets of Brighton in proud celebration of their sexuality. And it's not GAY PRIDE, it's PRIDE, which means heterosexuals can go and celebrate as well. I am f***ing delighted at the parade, and that they chose Brighton. I absolutely love it.

Does no-one on here indulge in the 'disgusting' act of showing love and affection for someone else in a public place? No? Just me and Daisy then...

PS - I've always been confused by this. What is a 'right on' attitude? To me, it's a totally meaningles phrase used by bigots to epxress outrage at support for minorities and the oppressed. I think. Never used the phrase myself.

High up on the South Downs.
What is the point of having a gay march in a tolerant place like Brighton. Why don't these peoplle show a bit more pride and courage and display themselves in places like Swindon or Burnley or most of middle England where they all come from any way.

I live in a pretty intolerant part of England and have genuine sympathy/empathy for minorities before the right ons start giving me stick.

I think its healthy to have a celebration like this. If you don't like it, why don't you move to Worthing? There are plaenty of people who think the same way as you do over here. You should feel right at home junior.

im not homophobic, i like houses:jester:

seriously, its only one day a year, and if youre a brighton fan, it is always on the first day of the season, so you should be missing pride parade anyway , or the bulk of it.

they probably had a great time, and most probably better behaved than the people that came to things like fatboy slim gig - so it doesnt matter

that is a parade if you ask me. look at ours, not even 2000 people.? I agree with Lord B, that you cant ignore them, as that would be a bad thing

there were porbably loads of people walking along the promenade on our parade day thinking to themselves - f*** off hooligans, you're not welcome. but we would never even think, people think that as we are football fans, just having a good time.

The poofs are prompt to discriminate against hetero people who visit their queer environments, in my experience, so why they blither on about wanting recognition for their perversion beats me.

If people who want to have sex with animals marched about snogging their pet, or masochists pranced about with leather straps around their nuts they can expect derision for going against nature and wanting to exhibit their particular mental disorder.

All the poncing about trying to get attention deserves ALL types of attention - negative as well (and particularly)

Just my opinion.

Now, I must be getting back to nobbing my goat and then making a special flag to express my weird denial of my pre-destined species and body-type.

Brighton has been the capital for this kind of thing for a LOT longer than people realise, and certainly a lot longer than any of us have been alive (unless you fought in the great war!)

if you don't like it the piss off, and no i'm not gay.

my point is that there has long been a gay community in Brighton, nine times out of ten its people who move here that complain, most of the knowledgable locals know it happens, live and let live FFS

besides this is a football forum, lets talk footie:clap2:

I'm Brighton born and bred and certainly have no problem at all with the Pride carnival/day. I also live near Preston Park and you don't hear me moaning. I have many gay colleagues and friends, and find the opening comments of this thread laughable.

We are a cosmopolitan city, and the gay and lesbian population are part of what contributes to the diverse range of residents we have, and I think it's great that on the whole, everyone is left alone to get on with doing their own thing.

The one thing that does surprise me is that the gay community spend most of the time just blending in and asking to be accepted and left alone, and then spend one day a year bringing more attention to themselves than any other section of the community ever does.

Maybe we should have Homophobic Pride another year, then we can see who they are all too (and give them the slap they deserve)! It's only fair.
