I'm making bacon. Anyone else make their own food or drink stuff?

You can see what people have bought?

Those handcuffs and that whip I bought? They're not mine; they're a joke Xmas present for a friend. *nods*

Yes, but not who.

I had the book down as you as also ordered yesterday were a book about culture in Silicon Valley and another about 21st Century Industrial Complexes (as well as the handcuffs and whip)

Top thread. And top HT for starting it...
I'm keen to make some link to politics here, but I've come over all reticent

Thanks. Have to say it's been an enjoyable experience and a pleasure to share.

How long will the bacon keep for once it's sliced?

Good question, not sure. I only tend to eat bacon at the weekend so I've packed it up into weekly parcels and frozen it.

A more pertinent question might be how long I keep after eating it.

How does it taste? Describe the sensation in minute detail.

Ha ha. I sliced it at 5mm so it was nice and thick and it tasted great, sounds daft but it really tastes of bacon. I left the skin on so there was a crisp salty porky crunch to the sandwich every other bite or so. Every other bite was dunked into ketchup as well. Very satisfying.

What got me is that once all the kit is purchased it's very simple. But then cooking is often like this ie the greatest effort is assembling the ingredients etc.

Red sauce and no salad!?

Where's the Coleman's English Mustard and the mayo?

And maybe a touch of Levi Roots Reggae Reggae?

How did it taste? Did 'missing a turn' earlier in the week anger the Bacon Gods?

All the meat handling was making me feel quite butch, so I skipped the salad.

Not the missed turn doesn't seem to have impacted anything. All good and quite happy and now pondering my next move!
