If they had staff at some of these stations some of these incidents would probably be avoided, cctv is ok to see what happened after the event but it does'nt prevent it from happening.

What an absolute :censored:

this is what makes me wonder about British law.

No protection for victims any more.

Girl's moment of rail track terror

The girl was saved from the line by friends
This is the moment a terrified teenager was left lying on a railway line as a train approached at speed.

The 15-year-old girl, from Hove, was flung on to the tracks by a man she had been trying to warn not to walk near the line.

She was sent flying from the platform at Portslade station and landed less than 2ft from the live rail.

Friends dragged her to safety as a train raced towards the station.

Detective Constable Nigel Craig, of the British Transport Police, said: "The victim is very lucky she didn't land on the live rail which carries 750 volts, or get struck by one of the many high-speed trains that pass through the station. We could now be investigating the death of a young girl."

The attack took place on Saturday, November 11 at about 10.50pm. Police have released the CCTV images now after their initial inquiries failed to identify the culprit.

A 17-year-old was arrested in the days after the assault but he has since been released without charge.

The girl had been standing with two friends on the Worthing-bound platform.

Police want to interview this man captured on CCTV
Det Con Craig said: "It would appear that the girls had seen a group walking along the tracks into the station.

"The victim and her friends had tried to advise the group that what they were doing was dangerous and that a train would be coming soon.

"It is alleged a male from the group came on to the platform having taken exception to this advice, following which a verbal then physical altercation took place, resulting in the victim being pushed on to the tracks.

"She landed right in the middle of the running rails, about a foot and a half from the live line."

Anyone with information about the attack or who recognises the man should call British Transport Police CID on 01273 228141 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.

This country is out of control. Coming back from Lewes two little shits where calling some bloke a batty boy.

At the top of my voice I told them to be quiet, shut up and show some respect.

When I got off the train they pushed me out of the door.

I was about to smack one the little gob shites in the mouth, but I thought to myself leave it and walked away

You cant trust them, they may have been carrying a knife or something like that. I dont want to be a one of these have a go hearoes thats end up in hospital.

There is something wrong with the attitude and this is why people are leaving this country.

On Saturday this f***ing Chav started on me saying I was gay and all this shit. Hard bastard with 3 of his mates behind him while I was just out with my boyfriend. I told him to piss off because I wasn't interested. Him and his mates hung about looking for trouble and my mate wanted to hit him but I said there was no point, there were 4 of them and 2 of us and there were pint glasses and bottles around. Some people are just ****s.

Just some pikey in a bar in Manchester. I was on my fourth day of drinking and was feeling somewhat fragile and paranoid which didn't held. Still him and his mates got bored when they could see they were getting no joy. I saw him later by himself and followed him up the road and was think about giving him a f***ing shoeing round the corner. But it turned out he was going round the corner to meet up with all his mates. Quickabout turn for Leslie.

No, they had their Chav smart uniforms on. Shaved heads and lots of shirts with collars and cuffs that didn't match the colour of the rest of their shirt.

Weird thing was I was in a proper student pub.
