Fair enough, but just seems slightly strange that you moan about ticket prices :)

IMHO it's more than slightly strange NOT to moan about £25 ticket prices. We all know the reasons why they cost what they do, but it's a shitload of money for a standard not THAT much better than pub football.

Prefer to be with me family as I am at work all week then play in a band once or twice a week (pm), prefer to spend my money on my family not just myself. :glare:

In view of the fact we only added two loan players to our squad I listened to the match on the radio.Albion played with a five man midfield and just one striker which resulted in just one shot on goal in the first half.
We were losing 2.1 fifteen minutes from the end when Wilkins decided to make three changes, this resulted in a welcome three points but not £25 worth of entertainment.

I'm in Southampton you RETARD. I dont have the sort of money that can mean that i can spunk out £13+ to get there, then £25+ for a ticket to a game that im going to be COLD and the majority of the time we LOSE.

So THERE.

To be fair most albion fans live nearer than you.

Fair point re the ticket price though. Would you pay £25 if you lived in the free travel zone?

Sten has a point. Being in Turkey makes it impossible to come. Before I was in Bishops Strtford with ajob that sent me half way across the world and a young family so Withdean was right out (and everytime I tried to get a ticket in the Championship they were always sold out).

If I lived in brighton I would go to every game and brainwash my daughter into the seagulls sisterhood.

BTW, I wasn't there so I cannot say what is 'dire' and what is not but in watching more than 5000 live games around the world I have NEVER been to a dire match.... not in comparison to watching a dire match on TV. being there is always better than the TV. And it is there epectatiom of an off-chance thriller that keeps you coming back. Last week I was in Sarajevo on business and went to Bosnia - Croatia. I saw 5 goals in five minutes... what a game! And I thought to myself... I would still have enjoyed it if it was 0-0... far better than watching on TV.

To be fair, if ALL the STH,s didn,t go and sold their ticket for £15.00, we,d still only have 5000 at the game.
The fact that a few tickets will be available for cheap prices, doesn,t help the potentially 4000 or so missing supporters, who would have to pay £25.Unless you are "hardcore", it just doesn,t make good value for money.

Was about to embark on a tirade of biblical proportions to exactly these ends.

I have sourced tickets for this and lower values but all that represents is an already dissenchanted supporter willing to part with their tickets because they have something else to do.

The club are making inroads into the problem of attracting younger supporters and families back to the games, but when will they take care of the bread and butter supporters who simply cannot afford to go to more than one or two games every couple of months? I want to support my team week in week out, feel good about it (in the sense that the club is getting my money) and feel that I would pay the price asked no matter what state the on the pitch activities were at.

Both the home games this year have been highly entertaining. We're not playing brilliantly, but we're playing with lots of spirit. How nice it is to see opposition managers moaning about their teams caving in. Well played lads. I really enjoyed it. No complaints about value for money from me.

£18 (as mentioned before £15 match £3 travel) for the South Stand would bring me back.

But at £18 there wouldn't be much more bringing back anybody because the club would struggle to stay afloat....and we can't put out a decent team with us paying £25. What would things be like with revenues down by 28%? I know it's an old problem but all the while we are at Withdean we have to pay high prices. Sad fact of Albion life at the moment.

Just proves how the game on the radio is somewhat different to the one 'in the flesh'. We had more than one attempt at goal in the first half, Southend may have had the edge but they weren't miles better than the Albion. Who knows what the score might have been if we'd taken the lead early in the game when we really should have done?

The second half was as entertaining as any game for a long while and we could have had and should have had more than three goals to show for the afternoon's work. We're miles away from being brilliant but if they play with the same spirit all season we'll be ok and I'll settle for that this season. We certainly aren't ready for promotion that's for sure-if we did go up, we'd definitely struggle.

Consolidate and play with some character, win the home games and the place will start filling up again...

You missed missed a thriller this is what footballs all about not endlessly posting drivel on here, get yourselves down to withers thats where its at, money, weather, facilities are just lame excuses. If you live locally what excuse do you have week in week out for not attending if you support a team you go to the games, criticise after the match on here if you have attended.:censored:

I dont normally call people c***s but you sir are one of the highest order.

I didnt go yesterday because i was playing cricket, the last game of the season. Under the circumstances our game yesterday was far more important to me in the general scheme of things as if we would have won we would have been promoted, as it were we didn't on both counts, however also playing was a chap who drives the A21 Albion Suppoerters mini-bus......who attends 99% of games home and away (as i try to do)

So i suggest instead of your pathetic immature griping, you celebrate the fact that we won a game and look forward to the Millwall game and stop trying to impress yourself with this inane clap trap.

I'm sorry THPP, but that has to qualify as one of the more stupid things said on NSC... and that makes it pretty STUPID :D

I don't know what sort of pub football you watch... but perhaps you should get the Dean's down there to do some scouting ? :jester:

I think the student prices could be worse, to be fair. The adult prices are extortionate, but I don't think I've ever seen a comeback from the Albion anything like yesterday before. The atmosphere was unbelievable and I'm surprised that people are still unwilling to come back despite such a fantastic finale. Had we been 2-1 down with 10 mins left last season, we would have definitely lost and possibly conceded another. I felt the same way about the Northampton game and if a 100% home record doesn't pull the fans in , then I don't know what will.
