Leek and the Staffordshire Moorlands, are decent area too live. However if you had that 'lottery win' if you wanted to where would you live in the U/K ? As for myself have always liked North Wales, and the tiny Anglesey village of Cemaes Bay. :bigwave:

I would live where we do. We live on the edge of a wonderful little village with a proper green, an ancient pub, barn dances, a village hall where the WI still hang around, a nice duck pond, in the middle of no where. We have made this house my dream home, we're surrounded by pigs, horses and fields, we can watch the sunrise and sunset over some of the prettiest countryside from our breakfast bar. A lottery win would not tempt me to move from here.

The only time we will leave this house is when we leave England.

I'd have a house here in Sussex, and a house/apartment in Barcelona and in New York, then 'commute' between the three as I felt like.

I know two of those aren't in the UK as stated by the questions, but given the financial opportunity in question I'd not want to limit myself just to this country.

I would live in Devon in the country but near the sea not to far from a main town anda main road to allow me to drive to the games. Probably Otterton or Newton Poppleford area.

Way out west
I would move out of Gloucester to one of the villages in the Stroud valley...it is a stunning area, might just manage it one day anyway, who knows? If I was to go further afield it would be to the Cape in South Africa, on the western side where the sea is warmer...will probably retire there anyway when the time comes.

Since moving up to cheshire and then onto Manchester itself...I used to have the pleasure of driving through Prestbury & Alderley Edge..land of the united footballers....

I must admit there are villages and areas just as beutiful in sussex..but for me it would have to be in one of these area's..
