I did enjoy Love and Mercy with Paul Dano and John Cusack playing Brian Wilson

I thought Dano was far superior to Cusack, which made it very much a film of two halves for me, Clive.

As a musician I can find a lot of music biopics frustrating, as I'm sure footballers do football biopics.

The behind the scenes stuff is sometimes just so ridiculously unrealistic - you always think "surely there is someone on the crew who has played in a band/played football, who can tell them that's absolutely not what happens"?!

Much derided as another ‘white saviour’ take on racism, in the vein of The Help, Driving Miss Daisy, The Blind Side etc.

and yet I still rather enjoyed it, along with The Blind Side (although that's less of a recommendation, as I'd pay good money to watch Sandy B read the back of a corn flakes box)
