Mayo, Hart. ? Not very encouraging if he couldn't wait to get them back on board.

The only reason i can think that hes brought them back is that he knows what they can offer the team, when he started maybe unsure who he can bring in, or what the players in the team can offer, and how consistent. To bring them back cheaper as insurance if it work out in the transfer window or the players who we have here e.g. Cox.

I can't agree with the topic statement. I've only been to around 5 games this year but Saturday's was the worst performance. Huddersfield were RUBBISH, absolutely nothing about them going forward, and we really struggled.

Sure we had chances towards the end, but that's because they sat back and let us, anyone would have chances.

Admittedly the ref had no control over the game, but I honestly think we would've been lucky to get something from the game. Was such a disjointed performance and I don't know where the excuses lie, because it's pretty much exactly the team I would put out.

Positives - Kuipers was very solid. Virgo was good. Anyinsah wasn't bad. Forster worked hard towards the end.

When will you all stop beating MA about resigning Hart and Mayo they have been signed, on allegedly a 60% lower wage than they were on, as efficient back up if needed. They havent played so cannot be held responsible for any of our defeats. If MA and the board feel that they can do a job and we can afford them what is there for us to moan about. I hope that we will make some significant signings during January but I believe we are 2 or 3 players off of a very good team that could do well in this division. Yes I believe that we will beat either Stockport or Oldham away and I will the lokk at the league table at the end of January as last season we were 17th then.

Agree with that apart from Anyinsah, but thats not his fault as he was made to start left wing, where I am sure he has never played before, then made to play right wing, then back to left wing, before being stuck up front, and then back to left wing.

The ref was terrible for both teams, he blew for half time when their striker was clean through on goal for startes

If Huddersfiled were rubbish, what does that make Whing and Richards? Neither of them can handle any kind of pace.

Whing and Richards (especially Richards) were terrible. A good manager will notice our defence is one of the slowest in the division and exploit it mercilessly.

Thornton is quality but I felt was marked out of the game a bit in the second half. Started brightly though.

I'm a Murray man through and through but he was very poor, apart from the one moment of pure FLAIR where he hit the bar.

Anyinsah I thought wasn't bad considering everything I had heard about him (ie: not good things).

Got to be a case for dropping these 2. They are just not very good at the moment but appear to be shoe in's to start in a struggling team ? very strange.

As for Adams comments. If we play like that we will loose. Despite possesion yet again we never really got them on the back foot. Yes we have half chances and corners but never really look a decent team even when on top.

Trouble is there's no one to replace them, is there? We could stick Virgo at right back, but on Saturday he showed Hawkins how to play like a centre half. And El-Abd will offer no more than Whing does at the moment.

As for Richards, do we have another left back?

The ref (and linesman on south stand side) was dreadful for both teams, did nothing to impose himself on the game, and then he would blow up for silly officious things, but wouldn't do anything about ACTUAL FISTICUFFS.

I think Anyinsah got taken off because their players realised you could get away with anything with this ref and were trying to actually kill him to DEATH.

Agree completley, Richards is very lucky there is no other left back, the only half option is Lynch who is plying his trade in the division above.

Cook is the only replacement for Whing, but is it too early, and too much pressure to chuck him into a team that isnt doing too well at present?

For once Virgo started at the back, in the middle, and we saw the great player that he is, instead of the one that was trying hard but looking clueless as he tried to play right, left, centre midfield and upfront

Isn't that Steve Cook a RB ? at least we would have a Delap esq throw in which could create more for us.
LB is a problem I agree

I understand Adams wanted to "stamp his mark on the team" for whatever reason, but WHY OH WHY did he mess with the defence? Elphick and Lynch worked perfectly well last year thank you very much, did not need any Hawks.

I'm not sure. But if both of them carry on like they have been I'd like to think Adams will be weighing up his options in Janaury, particularly with Richards, there's gotta be a more reliable left-back out there than him. Not so much of a problem with Whing as his basic defensive traits are good, unfortunately he's slow, unfit and lacks consistent good positioning, though.

I cannot agree with all these comments about Richards as I think that genarally he is an accomplished full back and yes he gets beat for pace early on but usually overcomes this as the game goes on. I hope that we sign him in January rather than have him on loan again. I think the exact opposite to Conboy I feel that the bigger problem is Whing.

Richards is better going forward than he is at defending. My problem with him is that he goes into challenges half heartedly and mostly loses out. Also when he gets beat he doesnt try and rectify his mistake by challenging back, he just walks back watching the opposition attack continue.
However, a lot of our attacking play, and goals have been because he has started them, I think he may make a better left midfielder than left back.

Whing has been poor, but there isnt a sensible replacement, that is better than him so he is kind of in on default. He puts some great last ditch tackles in, but like Hawkins, no matter how well he plays, you feel he is going to be responsible for us conceeding a goal
