Toussaint from Papillon might be a prudent appointment given the state of things at the moment?

Luckily NSC is just a forum, with a noisy left within it. I've lived and worked through Labour and Tory governments. Boris got dealt the worst political hand in history. Brexit and a worldwide pandemic. He is a poor communicator, but let's not forget he's only been a PM for 5 minutes and I suspect his faculties have been a bit Covid damaged. I'll judge him after Brexit and Covid, not in the middle of a fight for our global position and our financial and actual lives. The Tories may be a long way from perfect, but Labour and the tiddlers will never get my vote.

Far from perfect? Jesus wept, that’s putting it mildly.

Conservative.

If Labour we're in power this pandemic would have been a right shit show. As it is, i think Boris and his team have done a good a job as possible in tbe circumstances.

The pandemic has been an utter shit show. That’s why we have one of the worst death tolls in Europe. But yeah, sure, it would have been worse under Labour

Being in an area of high education Dems for me. Otherwise I'd vote for Starmer.

Interesting approach to polling, describing all parties by their full name and then just putting Tory at the end. What’s your aim?

He couldn’t possibly use their full name - not while they are in the process of destroying the Union.

It's more than interesting living in Spain with a socialist government facing exactly the same problem as virtually all governments face in these unprecedented times. The socialists here in a land mass twice that of the UK but a population of only 70% of the UK have, pro-rata, more deaths to cope with and consequently as much stick by opposition parties, in particular the PP (conservatives). Their spending, as is normal in Spain, is out of control and lockdown regulations change almost by the day. They are made even more complicated than the UK where only 4 regions decide the lockdown rules, here the central government make one rule then the autonomous regions (17 of them) vary them according to what they think! Meanwhile they ensure armed roadblocks are waiting for someone to try break the rules - no mask? 600 euros fine.

Ultimately of course they are all led by the scientific/medical advisors, as in the UK, and like all things in life they all differ in opinion. So it's totally unfair to blame any government of any country (except Trump of course) - these are unprecedented times.

Still a bit worried about the loony left in the Labour Party. Not entirely convinced that Starmer has them under control.

But I couldn't vote for Boris. The Cummings episode did it for me.

If there was a general election tomorrow an opinion poll on Left Wing Chat would not be representative of the nation as a whole.

I'm sorry but really, anyone seriously thinking about voting Tory at this point in time needs a full frontal lobotomy.

Clowns to the left of me, Jokers to the right.

No vote, stick to my bubble.

Don't tell me that NSC's most ardent unionist has changed their mind since they voted for a border in the Irish sea  and now no longer supports the Conservative and Unionist party (giving them their full name to keep yet another NSC poster happy) that they have always sung the praises of on here :lolol:

Besides this poll is a little early. I see a couple of posters who voted this Government in are now saying they only want them in until Jan 1st. They obviously didn't understand what they were voting for (for the first time, I'm sure). We have another few years of what you wanted before you get the chance to change your mind, and that gives loads more opportunity for self inflicted disaster :shootself

Batten down those hatches.

I don’t see Starmer as the Messiah, he has not impressed me at all, and I will never forgive Boris for almost single handedly swinging the Brexit vote.

I have yet to be convinced that any party would have handled the pandemic any better. You only need to look at all the other European countries to know that it’s a cluster**** everywhere.

Both parties are cluster ****s, hopefully Starmer can sort the looney left out as Blair did.

Do you really believe no govt could do better? Deaths per millions for large islands, new zealand 5 per million, japan 20, australia 35, ireland 430, the UK nearly 1,000. Even those where they have land borders, Germany at 230.

After Brexit then this i cant vote tory
