Potter built the team that saw us rise to 9th. He left us with the strongest Albion team ever, and in great form, to allow RDZ to finish off his great work.

For me, RDZ showed his true colours in the 2nd half of last season. He was not the fighter we thought he was. He lacked ideas, and was stubborn with his tactics.

You can say what you like about Potter - but he was always willing to learn and improve... and he was true to that. For me, that's why he is and will always be a better manager than RDZ, and I fully believe he did more for the club overall... and it would be magnificent if he can come back and continue/start a new project with us.

It’s not like it went sour with a fully fit squad available second half of the season. There were obvious reasons why we struggled.
Newcastle struggled when Isak was out injured Palace struggled without their best players available I don’t think Glasner won a game before Eze & co returned.
When RDZ was winning I didn’t read a post from you or anyone else saying we should sack this idiot and get Potter back.

While somewhat entertained by the "lets take this one Potter thread and make it the only one not about Potter" direction, its a nice little break.

Interesting to see you mention Cifuentes, I've brought him up a few times as well. Outsider name, but really interesting because of his reputation among what you might call the "football data people". He's a complete nerd and very heavily data-oriented, which could be a fit for us.

That said, one of his former co-workers told me Marti "has more ideas and knowledge than anyone I ever worked with but the practical implementation of the theory left, uhh, a lot to be desired". But maybe he's worked on that now.

I'm guessing he would need another successful season in the Championship before turning into a realistic option for us, but I'm sure we're following him closely.

Its more to prove there is more to the options than Potter. Marti is a good option, there was some no mark twitter account pretending to be an insider that he is in the running. Would make sense with the QPR friendly being a sweetener.

I agree with you. The promotion season under CH I think will always be my favourite ever. We played some great football,, which people forget as CH did what it took to keep us up. But it was right to part ways when we did, he’d run out of ideas and was in truth probably not able to take us to the next level. RDZ i think is a purist and an artist. This was glorious for a period. But once he didn’t have the tools to implement his vision he grew frustrated. Right to part ways before that became an even bigger issue than it already had.

PS: Interest or speculation about our players (eg: Gross ) doesn't mean they're leaving. Gross, according to the latest reports , "is aware of the interest but has not made a decision yet" and is now focusing on the Euros. He might of course but its hardly a done deal.

People will shoot me down for this, but this is a world-class ex-player doing incredible things as a pundit. I've never understood why he hasn't moved to management.
