Before I turn my attention to more important matters tonight, what an absolute shower today. Incredible timing really, the ECB offering a number of these players new contracts at the same time as we're crashing out. Ludicrous, cack-handed nonsense.
When have the ECB made any serious effort to refresh this ageing, complacent squad? They're mostly past it, certainly from an 50 over ODI perspective. It seems your face needs to fit, otherwise you're not getting in. Hales, Salt etc etc.....we really think they'd have done worse?
As for Stokes.....a great player no doubt, but surely a basic requirement to earn a contract is fitness. And he can hardly f***ing walk. Absolute shambles. Taxi for Keys.
